It's not, but it's roomy enough to wear over a hoodie and a sweatshirt. But only if the temperature falls below 45 or 50 degrees do I have to do that. However, each person's tolerance for the cold is unique. I can be found wearing only a heavy-weight Carhartt hoodie in temperatures as low as 20 degrees. Others that I am aware of require more.
Yes, it comes with a hood. a fantastic coat Larger sizes are ideal for layering.
Yes, the hood is made to fit over a hard hat.
We'd just had a lot of rain, and some of my crew members were getting soaked in their flimsy rain gear. I was completely dry; it was the best investment I'd ever made, and it was well worth every penny.

I didn't want anything that would make me hot; in California, you don't need to insulate all of the time, but you do want to stay dry. Because Carhartt doesn't offer a Hi-Vis option, My next best option was a vis shell with removable insulation; I have plenty of jackets and sweatshirts that fit underneath it, and it still fits well without them. This product has a great feature that acts as a windbreaker and prevents drips from trailing down the arms. Overall, it's a fantastic jacket for the job; I returned another jacket from a safety company that claimed to be "all-weather. " In one night of medium rain, the "weather" simply couldn't keep up. This product has kept me completely dry, which is why I buy all of my work clothes from Carhartt.
It's almost spot on, with excellent visibility, reasonable water resistance, and tough zippers. Carhartt does a lot of the things you'd expect. BUT. Additionally, there are some disadvantages. It's not at all breathable, and it gets hot and sticky inside if you wear it for any physical activity. Waterproofing is not 100%. The cuffs and bottom become very wet after an hour in moderate rain. The inside becomes damp after a few cycles of on/off. Overall, I'd say it's superior to many, but not quite as good as others. Bassdash is a light-weight style of bass drumming. Years better, Helly Hansen is roughly the same (in the same price range), Grunnens is less expensive and better, and it breathes. But it easily outperforms both my North Face and Columbia. To summarize, it's not a bad option, but there are better options/value available.
It's a good length and has a lot of thought put into it. It is on the larger side and can be worn with undergarments. The weather in Hawaii is ideal for this outfit. It was too hot in the insulated one. However, it will most likely get dirty because it picks up dirt on fabric. I haven't washed it to see if any stains come out, but it is reflective, which is the most important feature, and it keeps me dry.
It's cozy, and it's well ventilated! I'm curious as to how long it'll last! I work in the construction industry and am not known for being gentle with my clothing. I strongly advise anyone interested in doing something that is less damaging to their clothes to do so!.
Inside and out, there are a lot of pockets. For those evenings when you're stuck working on the roadside in the rain, you'll have incredible visibility. br>br>To paraphrase an old adage, "you get what you pay for. " The best should be paid for.
Except for being a little too big (I wear an XL and ordered an XXL so that I could layer underneath) and winding up with plenty of roombr>Except for being a little too big, it is perfect, I stayed dry during a massive rain and snow storm. The material does not "breathe" as well as I had hoped, so I will need to layer when working with heavy equipment. br>However, it is far more durable and better for field work than my old "plastic" yellow rain gear.
I bought it for my husband, who works in road construction on the Big Island, despite my concerns that it would be too heavy. It's perfect for him. It's the best rain jacket he's ever had, and he says it's comfortable to wear whether he's working at a higher elevation where it's cooler or at a lower elevation where it's hot. I'd buy it again, but I don't think I'll need to replace it anytime soon.
