Small is a good fit for me at 0" and 190lbs. I was tired of my lightweight rain jackets soaking through, so I set out to find something that wouldn't let any water in. That is exactly what this jacket is. It's been over a year since I bought it and I've probably worn it a dozen times. br>br>The following are NOT disadvantages, but rather facts and trade-offs. that were created to help this jacket do what it does best: keep you dry. I wasn't expecting any of these things from the jacket, but you should be aware of them:
- It is not breathable, as one would expect from a jacket of this type; you trade breathability for warmth. ability to be waterproof It is NOT a light weight product. It's not overly heavy, but it'll be heavier than the nylon jackets I'm used to.
- It is NOT a pleasant temperature. There is no insulation, so if it's cold outside, layer up. It will, however, keep the wind at bay. br>br>I would recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a completely waterproof jacket to keep in their truck. br>br>ON THE OTHER HAND: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place I'm 6'0" and 190 pounds, and I originally ordered a medium because it was said to run large, but I was SWIMMING in it. I exchanged it for a small and returned it. Even the small fits me a little snugly. In my opinion, they really beefed up the sizing. I guess they expect people to dress in layers underneath, but I didn't expect to look like a 10-year-old. year- I ordered a medium because he was wearing his father's jacket.
I agree with the previous reviewer who said it runs large. I'm 6'3" tall and ordered a Medium, which fits perfectly. Polyethylene is a type of plastic that is resistant to a variety of chemicals. this is the path to take It will not be able to withstand rain in any way. The light jacket is intended to keep you dry rather than warm. Buttons are fine, but I'd rather have a zipper. The attached hood is very nice. I also ordered a pair of matching overalls with simple snap buckles. They are a perfect fit for me because I ordered a regular large.
The raincoat was a little large, but I ordered a large to allow for movement and layering if necessary. I really like the wrist features that allow you to tighten them to keep water out. The hoodie and neckline are the same way. The buttons are well-sealed, so the coat will not fly open at the slightest provocation. Strong material that isn't breathable but is designed to keep water out, which is the main purpose. After a few days of use in the rain, I'm expecting my husband to give it a thumbs up.
It appears to be of high quality. The only way to find out is to wait. It's a little thicker and heavier than I expected, so it should last a little longer. It's a little big, but it lets you wear a lot of layers underneath it. br>It's not a good idea to use it all day during the summer. Because it isn't vented, it may become hot, but it will not leak. I needed a waterproof one for cold-weather fishing. This is acceptable to me.
Carhartt's storm defender series, while not as durable, is far superior. If this got caught on something, it would tear in an instant. Returned.
I needed a raincoat that was neither too heavy nor too light. This is a well-made piece.
It does exactly what it says. This item will keep you dry. Instead of the buttons, a zipper would have been preferable. There are no issues with the fit.
There was no zipper, so the front was simply snapped shut. I can't blame the seller because the coat was described as snapping up the front in the description. We couldn't get the snaps apart because it was too much work.
