As a personal preference, I prefer the Carhartt brand. It doesn't seem big or goofy to me, rather it's It's obvious due to the label on the shirt that this is a quality shirt. If I wanted a shirt with no labels, I'd buy a Hanes or a generic one.
There are some really nice shirts here! I have always been happy with Carhartt clothes! You can read on the Carhartt website which colors are 100% cotton and which colors are a blend of 60% cotton and 40% polyester!
There seems to be a different opinion among everyone about what is a good fit than mine. As a person who weighs 165 pounds and stands 5' 10", I purchased a large tall. Take a 42long jacket and wear it. Although the shirt I received is of good quality and color, it could easily fit two of us as it is quite large.

It's normal for me to wear a size large T shirt, so I purchased a A medium was much better, as the large was a little too big. I ordered a medium, but it was the exact same size as a large, so I ordered a small. As soon as the Small came, it was the exact same size as the Medium and The clothing is marked with the S symbol for the only size available. Although I only use them for working in the yard, the measurements are the same, but I have a few smaller ones.
They seem to run a bit large, at least I found that mine seemed many sizes larger than their label indicated. Even though it is "regular fit", the thing fits like a tarp, and the length goes all the way past my knees. I laugh at this shirt, which is so oversized. This dress not only looks terrible, but it would be impossible/dangerous to wear during a training session because the loose, draping fabric has a way of catching on everything and anything. The design and manufacturing of Carhartt stuff is seriously flawed. I have loved their stuff for years, but something has gone wrong recently. It isn't a brand I will ever buy.
The size of this is larger. Carhartt shirts marked as Made in Honduras fit well for shirts and seem to be of a good quality. The sizing should be adjusted, the body material should be thicker, and the neck should be large.
