Bates Men's Gx-8 Gore-tex Waterproof Side Zip Military & Tactical Boot

I had these boots for many years and they were great. My collection of shoes consists of so many pairs that I can't count. I have had two pair of these shoes have a zipper fail in a row. They have a soft sole and are very comfortable right out of the box. Based on the zipper's appearance, the material appears to be very cheap. Nothing seems to work after I added a bit of oil. As others are starting to report as well, the zippers are junk. Unfortunately, Bates is following the path of so many other companies and has stopped caring about.

The pair in question is not this one. My only complaint is that the boots are falling apart. I've only owned them 2, and hardly wear them. They are so light and comfortable that I'm not worried about them becoming heavier. During the second rain and after walking through light puddles, the sole on the heel has peeled off and the water protection failed. It should be more than I expect for the money. The return window is closed so I won't be able to return it. I'm in the early hours of the morning Bates are about my favorite brand if I've ever had In difficult conditions, I never failed in any of my tactical situations. If the ones I have from Amazon are already failing, then it either means I have a dud pair, they are knockoffs or every quality control test has gone bad. Rather than allow Amazon to treat this as a dispute among me, I will write directly to Bates to try to resolve this. I will update the review if the company contacts me to assist.

Initially, the product was faulty and had obvious quality issues. It was comfortable to wear these. The pants did not pinch or cause any obvious chafing. However, after walking around the house for 5 minutes, they started squeaking. An attachment point between the sole and upper usually squeaks when it is made cheaply using cheap, corner-cutting techniques. I have reviewed the customer pictures and investigated the failures, so I have to say that these issues seem to not be solely due to user error, as the non leather or canvas material is not that durable, as it is comparable to vinyl. I also felt like I was going to break the zipper trying to move it up and down, even where it didn't bind up. The zipper got stuck about 1 inch from the bottom for no apparent reason, and I felt like I was going to eventually break it. In my opinion, bates quality isn't as good as it used to be Here is a classic Chinese quality product that has been baited and switched to American quality. As a result, I am returning them, so I cannot comment on their quality.

Standing in them for a long time does not keep you warm however, walking in them will keep you warm and dry because of their combination of inside and outside material. The last time I bought boots for work was about 15 years ago As I had worn my old pair for 16 years, I was leery of breaking in new ones. Additionally, I was worried that the boot style of 8 inches would cause rubbing or irritation on my skin. It was the complete opposite. These boots made me feel great immediately after wearing them. It appears that they are made from quality materials because they have a very solid feel to them. With the extra height, this boot adds much-needed stability, and makes me wonder why I didn't opt for an 8" boot at the beginning. Furthermore, I am pleased to report that the heel of the boot is made from a non-toxic material Rubber material, designed to withstand scuffing and rounded surfaces, is the ideal choice for long shifts while driving a police car. It is only the tread pattern that I see as being bad. Unlike traditional treads, these are not made of wood. Their shape makes them look like cleats. Photographers are in need of waterproof boots that can withstand years of use. Given that I spend around 8 hours on the job per day, I needed to find one that was comfy and durable. My demanding job requires me to be on my feet for 10 hours a day, which meant I needed footwear that would protect my feet and support my ankle. The first month has been good to me. It would have been nice to have a 6" boot, but this 8" boot is way better than the previous. I had one problem with the boot, a section of the leather near the base of the laces dug into Having broken them in, I was no longer bothered by it, now that they were there. The sides and tongue of these boots are not padded much like other similar boots. Yet the boot is waterproof and lightweight, supportive, quiet while walking (except on linoleum), and water-resistant. Because the zipper makes it so you don't have to unlace them every time you put it on or take it off. During tightening, all I have to do is pull the top laces tight, and then pull the excess belt tight before tying it. With no quick laces, tightening is super easy and quick. (I have had Timberland and Under Armour duty boots in the past, and this is by far the best boot I've owned. It doesn't matter which one I like). It may be necessary to update this review to see how it compares to Occupational wear and tear.
