As a result, I wear a half size smaller than I do in Keen's Newport sandals. Keen sandals are available in many stores for you to try on. They can be used as a guide to size. Here are some examples. The Newport fits me in a size 12 but the 11 feels more comfortable. The Garmont T8 scores 5 out of 10.
The grip was quite good on muddy and wet surfaces, but I have not yet tried it on icy surfaces.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's not the best choice. Your foot'll be soaked as soon as these things get wet.

It is amazing to have boots like these. I have been a soldier for over nine years, and these boots are definitely the grippiest boots I have worn, beating J Boots, Magnums, Meindls, and Lowas, among others. The first thing I attempted to do as soon as I received these boots was a 15km, 35KG pack march. Even when they've been climbing steep hills or walking through mud, they haven't lost grip. It is the only grip I have listed, since I actively tried to lose it. They fit like they should, no hot spots. They're very comfortable. As a result, I found they supported my calves better than my previous boot, even though they forced me to use my calves and ankles more. It is my intention to buy another pair of these boots in the future and I would recommend them to anyone. Hopefully I will be able to update this review in a month and see how durable they are.
begin with, the boots are extremely well made and of excellent quality. In addition to replacing my aged Bates Hot Weather Mountain Boots, which had been an RFI issue for an Afghanistan deployment and had seen years of abuse, I bought these as well. The usual range for me is between an 8 and 9. A decision was made to go with an 8 boot size instead of a 5 or 9. My address is an APO overseas, so I had a bit of a gamble since my mail could take up to two weeks Amazon products take 3 weeks to arrive, so returning them is not my favorite thing to do. I’ve been watching The Garmont 8 for the past few days. In the 8 size range, the 5 is at the small end. As you can see in the photo, both Bates issued boots depicted are a size 8 and fit a size 5 scale. While I could still fit into the Garmonts, they are tight, so for the next time I order a size 9, it will be a size 12.
Since there are a lot of reviews already posted on these, I'll just say I like the boot overall, but I am unhappy with how the tongue is designed. I agree with what the other reviewers have said and would like to echo that As far as the tongue design and its construction go- A frontal boot with a 1 1/2" shaft puts an excessive amount of pressure on your ankles at the sides. The effect can be mitigated on most occasions by tying them as tight as possible however, at times it will still be noticeable. In my experience, the only way to tighten the boot without causing friction points is to leave the ankle lace relatively relaxed and then tighten the verticals section as much as I'd like until I reached the snugness I'd like. However, they are pretty sleek and are not the least bit troublesome. It's a bummer that my foot can't be 100% compatible with that tongue design, so I may experiment with something else next time. Almost every boot I try has its own issue, and they are usually all different problems. I just wish I could find a boot that doesn't have any of those issues.
In my career as a soldier, these are the best boots I have worn. It is an extremely durable and comfortable pair of boots that is also very supportive. Whether in garrison or on deployment, these boots really stood up to my demands. The only negative is that they take a little while to dry out if they get wet, but this is not a huge We received these from Elite Survival in no time at all. The standard shipping was free, and we only had to wait a couple of days. Last but not least, the price is lower than ANY price I've seen in shops around the post or on other online retailers. It is highly recommended that you use This photo shows the new pair from late 2014 on the left and the old pair from late 2014.
According to some reviews, they run a little narrow, but in my opinion they run like normal shoes. Despite having a normal size foot, I do not have You have Fred Flintstone feet if you have shoes that fit too snug. The seat is extremely comfortable, it's probably the most comfortable one I've ever sat in. It has a lot of resilience My boots failed to withstand the MUD, and I found myself knee deep in mud after purchasing them. The instructions from the manufacturer instructed me to wash with water only and let them dry on their own. The difference, I assure you, could not have been seen if they had been soaked in mud. As from now on, I will ONLY buy this brand. Those are pictures of them after they were muddy and after they had been cleaned.
A boot I've never owned has been the best! My experience in the military has kept me on my feet for 23 years! I have only worn this pair of boots in the Army and it is the only pair that has never hurt my feet. From rucking to deployments, this is the only pair to never hurt when my feet are wet.
I found the boots to be comfortable as soon as I opened Their good traction, excellent breathability, and great workmanship make them a very nice pair of boots. My pack was supportive enough to make it possible for me to hike over rocky alpine terrain with a 25-pound load without any issues. When I walked a few miles through some very tall vegetation, much of which was soaked with morning dew, I did feel my feet get soaked more than I expecting. I have decided to treat the shoes with some waterproofer in order to alleviate a lot of these problems. All in all, I am pleased with the shoes and would recommend them to others.
