The watch looks nice, but the functionality is disappointing. I really like the design and feel of the watch, but it's not functional. As of now, I will be returning it after spending several hours trying to get it set up. I can connect my phone to the phone without any issues. The two recognize that they are connected, but when I try to set up Google pay or Google fit, the watch returns an error that there is no connection between them. It should be noted that I am technically proficient and had previously set up a Samsung watch with no problems. *Update I decided to give it one more try before returning the watch, so I deleted the apps associated with the watch, unpaired the watch from the phone and restarted both devices to start over. My overall impression of this watch is very positive. The fossil I had in gen 2 was so bad I almost did not want to buy another one. It still didn't work out, but I am glad I gave it a second The numbers suggest Gen 5 is not as heavy as it was during Gen 4 The improvements are significant, given that we are a year and a half from 2. There is only one thing I am having trouble with fitness The location of this phone can be tracked. In addition, my watch is normally less than half a mile per day less than my phone every single day because my Google fit app does not sync with my phone at all. In addition to my mileage, my steps and move minutes seem to be incorrect as well. My tracking is never functioning. I've reset the watch, reinstalled the app, and changed every setting I can find. Even though I have changed phones and gotten a new watch, the tracking is never performing properly. Seeing as my watch stats are so different from my phone, I can't tell if the phone is somehow over tracking or if the watch is somehow I am hesitant to trust either of them and they may not know what I do very well. Since a big part of the reasoning behind smart watches is their fitness function, this may be why people resist buying them. I have found the battery life to be surprising, but I am not surprised by the voice-to-text feature Text messages work well, as does messaging and calling I love how fast the email goes through and how easy it is to control the music. It's not like I'm trying to make anything outrageous out of it. As with my Huawei, I'm just trying to use it like I have my Huawei for the past year and a half. A Moto 360 has been around for two years and a Moto 5 for five. The Moto had a speaker 5 years before that (after all, it was the first phone to have one). My old Huawei has a smaller battery capacity (420 mAh) but I wasn't prepared to have to charge it three times a day, most of them when I am sleeping since My 2014 Moto 360 had a 320mAh battery, and this one has only a 310mAh one! I now understand why the screen is so dark - it must have been a glitch in the software. My computer is set to save juice, but I do not see it set to auto-save The brightness mode is not available In the case of manually increasing brightness, battery life will be significantly reduced. Therefore, this watch is going back to the store unless I find some setting or adjustment I am overlooking. I find this device pretty and fast, but it can only be used for a short period of time.
