This is a MODERN FIT Tuxedo. Modern Fit products hug the body all over tighter than a standard regular fit suit/tuxedo, giving you a slimmer, more modern look. Please keep this in mind when purchasing Modern Fit items if you aren't used to them.
"The Drop" is a term used to describe a phenomenon. The drop refers to the difference in size between a suit coat and the accompanying trousers. The drop would be 6 inches for a size 40 regular, resulting in a 34-inch waist.

Is the suit's collar made of satin or the same fabric as the suit?
The collar is made of satin, and the rest of the garment is made of black wool. It's just right.
Is it permissible for me to bring my own pocket square? There appears to be one sewn into the jacket already in black satin. ?

I'm looking for the exact measurements of these 34" waist pants. Jackets in the 40R range fit me better, but some pants in the 34 range don't fit me because I'm a 35?
Because my pant size is 34x30, I needed to order a 42S in order for the pants to fit properly. Because of the shorter sleeves, the jacket was a good fit.
What is the smallest size of pants that can be worn on a 40" waist?
My son's waist size is 34, and we had to have it taken in just a smidgeon. Even on the tightest setting, there was some wiggle room. I hope this information is useful.

The suit's modern cut gives it a tighter fit than a traditional fit. . . I normally wear a size 54. . . . In the midsection/belly, the 54reg modern has a small cut.
