The Best Sandals in the World. I buy a version of these sandals for each of my children as they grow older, but I bought these for my husband. br>br>They look great almost regardless of the weather. They are indefinitely lasting. He's had them for four years and wears them when he goes camping or Scouting. When it's appropriate, he'll wear them in the water, mud, or while hiking. He wears them to Scout summer camp every year as an extra pair of shoes because they can be worn as sandals or as more rugged footwear as needed. br>br>Have faith in the guarantee. Despite the fact that the bungee laces were chewed through by a neighbor's dog, they still sent me a replacement. br>br>I've only ever had one pair of these leather Keen sandals fail on me, and I'm fairly certain it was entirely my teenager's fault; I'm sure some bad ones slip through quality control occasionally, but we've never found a pair, and I'd bet I've bought at least a dozen pairs of these leather ones for all my kids over the past fifteen years, and all but one pair gets passed down to our neighbor as they grow out of with my br>br>You'll have to pay a premium for these unless you keep an eye on them in your shopping cart's save section, as I do, for when they go on sale. I prefer not to pay more than seventy-five dollars for something. Unless it's an emergency, pay $5 for the adult version of these.
Keen has continued to produce inferior products in my opinion. I used to have a pair of Newports about ten years ago, and they were fantastic. Now, I've tried a variety of sandals and styles, but they all fall apart after 6 months, or the sizes and shapes of each sandal are so dissimilar that they're uncomfortable. I'd appreciate it if Keen began paying higher production costs in order to produce a quality product once more.
I spend a lot of time outside in the spring and summer, whether hiking, biking, or simply relaxing in the backyard, and I prefer fisherman-style water shoes like these because I don't want to get my feet wet. I've owned Tevas and Crocks, but these Keens are without a doubt the best hiking/water sports shoes I've ever owned. Because of the cinch-cord, the fit is fantastic and like a glove. Lacing system of this type I'm a size 13 and found the regular to be plenty roomy. They're a little on the heavy side, but with the tight fit on rough terrain, the extra weight feels good. I'm going to order a second pair just in case they go out of business. This is a pair of shoes that I would highly recommend.
It was never ideal for my feet, despite being comfortable. Finally, I decided it was time to call it quits. I found a pair of genuine leather boots that were waterproof and sized to fit my feet. This time, I paid full price ($119) and am extremely pleased. I've always been disappointed when I've tried to save money by cutting corners. Keens are a type of shoe that lasts nearly indefinitely. I'm in love with my new ones and don't regret paying full price for them; they're comfortable and true to size, and the selection on Amazon is unrivaled.
The lines on the insoles did not appear to match up with my feet and toes when I first tried them on, which took some getting used to. However, I was hoping to like them based on other reviews and the shoe's appearance and quality. As a result, I put them on for a few days. It's been two weeks since I bought them, and they've quickly become my go-to summer shoe. I bought a half-size larger than I usually wear based on recommendations. I'm not convinced I should have gone through with it. They're comfortable, but I think a half-size smaller would have worked just as well. On the other hand, I haven't seen how a half-size smaller would fit, so I can't say for sure. But, once again, I ordered a half-size larger than usual, and they fit perfectly well with plenty of room. They're extremely comfortable, and the quality appears to be exactly what I wanted. The reason for my four-star rating rather than a five is that it appears that Keen assumed that everyone's toes would be the same length and that the lines on the foot bed would not be an issue. I simply believe it is a feature that could have been omitted. Aside from that, I adore the shoe and intend to wear it religiously for years to come.
In 2006, I bought my first pair of Keen Newports to wear on a trip to Italy where we planned to do a lot of walking. Those shoes not only performed admirably on that trip, but also for the next 15 years, including a second trip to Italy and a trip to Greece and Turkey. And hiking in Oregon on a daily basis. But, alas, all good things must come to an end (or wear out), and I was delighted to discover that Keen was still selling this sandal. I'm confident that my new pair of shoes will last another 15 years. Hiking is always fun.
Keens are a great fit for my feet, and these are top-notch. As expected, the quality is excellent. They aren't cheap, but I consider them good value for money because my previous pair lasted so long that I decided to replace them with another pair of Keens. I was sent the wrong color, but my wife liked the ones I received so much that I decided to keep them, so no harm done.
I rarely wear anything other than Keen sandals because I live in Southern California. When I went to Hawaii, a friend told me that Keen sandals would protect my toes from lava rocks, so I bought my first pair. They provide good protection even after many pairs have been formed. I also like how well the ones I chose can be machine washed after getting muddy in the garden. I am very happy with my purchase.
