I am 6ft 225 and have a slight belly, so large fits perfectly, with room to add an insulated flannel underneath. I love my new vest because it's not stiff like my old one, which I had previously. Besides having large, angled pockets, it has pockets that are insulated and have velcro closures on the inside as well. I would like to see an additional pocket inside the bag. Despite my best efforts, there was a pucker on the collar that I couldn't remove. But my wife had it flattened in minutes. It is enough as a vest if I'm not moving, but when it's zipped it is tight around my waist when I bend down and it makes me uncomfortable. A xl will be tried at a later date. Edit Ordered an XL in brown, it is a little bigger in the waist and length so it is no longer tight but it is just a little bigger than I would like it to be. Will be interesting to see how the material breaks in and shrinks as it wears.
It's more casual than you might expect. A vest is an excellent alternative to a hoodie if you like to wear hoodies. With the exception of a tie, it goes with most everything.
