My head measures 7 3/8" in diameter so I was worried that hat would not fit. There was a little tension in the adjuster chord so I had to pull it a little until it fit me appropriately. In my opinion, a 7 1/2" fit should be no problem, perhaps a little bigger. Having worn it in bright sun twice now, I can attest that it offers good sun protection. You can keep the sun's rays off of your ears and neck with this product. Cool and light in feel, it seems to have a relatively cool vibe.
