Questions & Answers
The skirt is made up of two pieces: a skirt and a panty.
The ones I got are just regular skirted swim bottoms with a small crotch liner, similar to what you'd find in most bathing suits. My two-year-old is still in a swim diaper.
For my almost 3-year-old granddaughter, I purchased a 4t size. She is mostly potty trained, but she still has an accident every now and then. They went to Disney two weeks ago, and their pool rules state that if a child has an accident, even if it is only once in a while, a diaper must be worn. A bulky diaper would fit perfectly in the bottom. The material used for the swimsuit is stretchy. A diaper, in my opinion, will fit all sizes. The bottoms, in my opinion, were not designed to be worn without a diaper.
It does a good job of covering everything. br>This is a fantastic suit!

This suit is a big hit with my daughter. For two years, she was a size 5 (5). 6 years old), which her 4-year-old sister is now wearing (though it's a little too big for her). This year, I purchased a size 7 for my daughter, who turns 7 next month. The skirt's built-in'underpants' are too tight around her legs and dig a little into her groin. This was not the case with the size 5, so I'm surprised the size 7 does. I tried pulling it a little to stretch it out, and it helped a little. My daughter is extremely thin, so anyone with even a smidgeon of flesh on their bones might find it too tight. I was hoping it would last her another two years, but next summer I'll probably have to go up a size or two. We, on the other hand, adore these suits, and since I have a younger daughter, I know she'll put them to good use. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> Last summer, my younger daughter wore the size 7 suit for a few weeks, but it dug so deeply into her groin area that I had to cut the elastic to loosen it. However, this did not help, so we returned the size 7 suit and purchased a new one.
It's hard to find modest swim for little girls, so I'm glad I found this product. The fabric quality is outstanding, and the fact that it all has SPF 30 built in is an added bonus! My daughter, too, is a svelte young lady. Despite the fact that she is only two years old and weighs only twenty-one pounds, the swimsuit still fits her snugly and does not sag. She still has a lot of room to grow into the suit, too. It came with a reversible hat, a cute little unicorn shirt, and a skirt with built-in bottoms. She's worn the swimsuit a few times now, and we've washed it several times and the design hasn't faded at all! The quality of this set has me impressed, and when the time comes, I'll be getting her the next size up!.
I'll never buy another of their products for the rest of my life, despite the fact that I paid $45 for two swimsuits for my daughter last year. The first suit I bought lasted about a month before it became too thin and stretched out for her to wear, so I bought her a replacement, which lasted about the same amount of time. All of the swimsuits are hung to dry after being washed in our washer on hand mode. Clearly, it wasn't due to poor swimsuit maintenance. That's a lot of cash to waste on swimsuits for a four-year-old.
My daughter comments, "I like the colors, I like the dolphin, and I'm glad there's sunscreen protection. " The fit is great overall, but the kids don't like putting it on because of the tightness of the turtle neck collar, according to other reviews. I tell my kids, "Get over it!" as a parent. It appears to be a feature of the suit's SPF protection. My daughter claims that once the suit shirt is on, it is very comfortable. I liked how long the skirt was, how it covered her buns and how well the inside bikini fit. I almost bought this from the UV Skinz website, but decided to buy it here instead and saved almost $100. The hat is a little large for a size 7 and fits on my head, but it will work for her if we raise the brim.
That hat is reversible and adorable, and I love the scuba cat print. The skirt dries quickly and could be a little longer, but it's sufficient for a toddler. My daughter loves it, but the rashguard top is unlined and completely see-through, which is a drawback. When wet, it passes through. I was expecting a liner or thicker fabric for $30, but that was my fault for not reading the description more carefully. Overall, this is a good option for girls because it provides adequate coverage. It's strange that while boys are expected to wear rashguards and knee-length shorts, most girls' swimsuits expose them so much. This option appeals to me. Thank you, UVSkinz, but please make sure the tops are lined. The rashgard of my carter's girls is lined as well. I would recommend it in general, but only the darker colored tops.
I really like the two-piece UVSkins swimsuits, but they're a little difficult for the kids to get over their heads. For my 4, I wore a size 4. 5 year old twins, but due to the head issue, I went ahead and purchased the pink patterned ones in size 5 and am now able to get the tops over my girls' heads more easily. br>br>My other gripe is that the backs of the skirts are a tad short, and the kids appear to be flashing people as they walk. (I didn't have this problem with a skirted swimsuit in a different pattern in a size 4). br>br>I adore UVSkins' swimsuits and have been buying them exclusively since the twins were one year old. (And the two-piece set makes diaper changes and potty breaks a breeze!).
Set of 12/18 months. We placed an order for a 12/18mo set. We only ordered it because it was supposed to have a longer, drawstring skirt. As you can see in the photos, this is not what we got. The bottoms are just a regular bikini bottom with some frill because we wanted something comfortable but with a good amount of coverage. This is a major setback. Receiving an item that was clearly not as advertised was very frustrating because there is an entire section of the item description dedicated to the skirt and how it should be made. There are a lot of cuter options out there if we wanted to get a bathing suit with a traditional bikini bottom.
