Questions & Answers

Is it a tie or a slip-on style? The lack of a bow and the shoe tied in the photos is perplexing. ?

Tie.

Is it possible for you to remove your insoles? Orthotics are used by my son. ?

No, it appears that the insole is glued to the shoe. It is impossible for me to remove the insole.

The shoe is of poor quality
3/5

We purchased these for my son because we go hiking frequently. He didn't put them on until the 12th of September. We've gone on a few hikes since then, but none of them have included playgrounds, mud puddles, or anything else. We put them on two days ago for a hike, and the shoelace broke, and then we noticed the eyelets holding the shoe string were falling apart. Wow! It's been less than a month since we last saw each other. I'm two days past my return deadline, as well. What a letdown! Shoes that are poorly constructed. Save money by purchasing elsewhere.

Hiking Boot for the First Time
5/5

So, despite the fact that I am an adult woman, I dress like a boy. I began hiking frequently with my nephew, and he introduced me to the Merell brand; I ordered the size 4 wide width and took this baby out for the first time yesterday, trekking up the hills and pastures where there was high grass, rocks, and slippery dry soil. And don't even get me started on cows. Cows, to be precise. And let me tell you, it made a difference in my feet. This is a fantastic shoe that will last for a long time. We went for a 2-mile hike last night, and I know I was well-prepared thanks to this shoe. This is the first pair of hiking shoes I've ever owned.

This isn't a hiking shoe in the traditional sense
3/5

not durable enough Although these shoes fit my son's wide feet well, they aren't true hiking shoes in terms of their ability to handle rough terrain. We bought these specifically for my son to use in our backyard, which has a lot of rocks (as hiking shoes are designed to do). We spent ten days at Disney and the shoes performed admirably on the asphalt; however, three weeks later, while playing in the backyard, they looked like this. My son isn't rough on his shoes, but living in the desert means the terrain is rocky, so he had an old pair of Merrel suede shoes with hard rubber soles that lasted a year before showing signs of wear. As a result, these shoes are designed to be worn on flat, smooth surfaces. In rocky terrain, it is not recommended to hike. The materials used to make these shoes aren't strong enough to withstand rocky terrain.

Solid and stable
5/5

The strength of the shoe laces is the only thing that could be improved. They're a little flimsy for such well-made hiking shoes.

It was a little cramped
4/5

The color and style of the shoe are amazing. We always got "wides" and they seemed to fit comfortably from the first day, so they just seem too tight for our experience with the brand. I went up a half-size, but it didn't make much of a difference except for the length.

PERFECT FOR FEET WITH FLAT FEET
5/5

I never got them, but a family member said they were comfortable and helped with flat feet. Hiker boots are the way to go if you're looking for arch support.

After only three days, the laces are almost completely broken! We only needed hiking shoes for our child for an upcoming trip and couldn't find any that looked better
3/5

Aside from appearances, they function well, but the laces are the cheapest and most defective! They must swap places!.

It's a piece of garbage
3/5

Since we received these shoes, my child has worn them about five times, and the strings that hold the shoe together are already unraveling. It's also not just one or two strings strung across one foot. It can be found on both shoes as well as several frayed strings. Shoes that are a complete waste of money. We'll be looking for new shoes elsewhere, hopefully with better results.
