They aren't exactly "waterproof," but they're close. My son uses them every day, and his feet stay dry unless he stands in a puddle for a long time!
My son is now nine years old, but he used to wear a pair of shoes that were very similar to these when he was younger. My son is very particular about shoe fit and comfort, and he absolutely adores these. The shoe has a good fit and is true to size.
My daughter has been wearing these shoes for one school year and has had no problems with them. She will continue to wear them this school year as well, both for regular school and athletics. I got her a new pair in a different color and one size larger. In your area, you can look for shoe repair/shoe doctor services. Hopefully, they will be able to repair it.
My son's feet are quite narrow, but he has no trouble. The fit, on the other hand, isn't exactly "snug."

They look good and last through all four seasons. I've bought them every year for the past four years because they fit like sneakers and don't require laces. There are no issues at all. It should be the official boyhood shoe. In the wet winter, it also keeps your feet dry. The traction is excellent. I've never had to replace them due to wear and tear because one pair lasts the entire time he's that size. I hope this has been of assistance. This year's shoe on the left is brand new. After a year of daily use, the shoe on the right looks like this. So you can see how well they stand up to wear and tear.
I am a 65-year-old woman who has worn boys shoes for years because my feet are short and wide; they fit perfectly, are warm, and appear to last longer than women's shoes. Every year, a new pair replaces the old pair, which in turn replaces an older pair that has been relegated to yard shoes. br>This is a fantastic plan that works for me.
Especially now, when even the most "reliable" and "high-quality" shoe brands (I'm looking at you, Nike and Adidas!) are questioning their reputations. ) makes dreadful shoes, particularly for children. My kids can easily destroy a pair of Nikes in a week. We've discovered that investing more money up front in shoes that will last longer, look better for longer, and ultimately be better for my children's feet is far more cost effective. A pair of Brooks may cost $100, but my sons are more likely to outgrow them than have the soles wear out or fall off. However, it's nice for the kids to have something that's easy to put on and take off, which is how I came across these. I already own Merrill hiking boots, which are extremely durable and reliable, so I decided to take a chance on these. I'm so happy I did. They are a big hit with my kids. They're extremely comfortable and sturdy without being overly bulky or heavy. I have a feeling these puppies will last a long time because the color is lovely and the leather is of excellent quality. I'd even go so far as to say they could be mistaken for dress shoes. Seriously, they're that appealing, and the price was spot on! I'll see how they hold up in the rain in Seattle (we're still stuck at home, so these shoes aren't getting much muddy school field action right now), but so far they've held up well. I would strongly suggest it.
I'd had these for almost exactly three months when I noticed the heel had almost completely rubbed through to the shoe's outer layer. I spoke with Merrell to find out how long the shoe would last (I had worn it a lot!). I was told that I needed to report them as defective, which I did. After some back and forth, they agreed to replace the shoes and will send them to me as soon as I send them a photo proving that I rendered the shoes unwearable. I find it difficult to do so because the flaw has no bearing on the wearability of the garment. Although I had expected to have to return them, it appears to be a significant waste. A couple of years ago, I had a similar experience with Keen shoes (though it was a minor issue). When I inquired about it (which I did in their store), they not only accepted it as defective, but also credited me the full price of the shoe, despite the fact that I had no receipt and had told them up front that I had purchased them at a substantial discount. They refused to return the shoes when I asked them if they wanted them back. Knowing the company, I'm guessing it's because they really wanted to use the shoe. I understand that Merrell's argument is that they don't want anyone to get hurt because of a faulty shoe, but come on! They're sending me a new pair, and I'm not going to replace them again until they wear out in three months.
These shoes for young children are fantastic. We live in a northern state where snow boots are required at school during the winter, but only outside, so students must change shoes when they arrive at school, before and after each recess, and when they leave. Slip-on shoes make this a breeze, allowing you to get the most out of your time outside. And these Merrell shoes have become a favorite of mine and my children because they are warm, weather resistant, and can withstand snow and rain if necessary. Work for the gym is also necessary.
I carefully read all of the testimonials. My 9-year-old would benefit from a slip-on rugged shoe. We started with the size 5, which is a size larger than his actual foot size, but he said they were too small. I exchanged them for a size 6 after returning them. He wore them to school and returned home with a large blister on his big toe, complaining that they pinched his feet and made him uncomfortable. So, while we wanted to like the shoes, they were not appropriate for my child's narrow feet. In addition, one of the insoles was improperly glued, giving the impression that the shoe was poorly constructed. For a Merrell brand, this is surprising.
These are the items that I use most frequently. to both formal and informal footwear There are several pairs in my collection. The tread is different (but still good) and the sole has a bright orange label, which sets them apart from the adult version. That can be fixed with a black sharpie. br>Comfortable and stylish for both work and play. The big kid size 6 corresponds to a men's size 6, and a women's size 7. 8, or 38 euros in European currency.
Edit! We're still buying these after all these years! My son was miserable trying to fit into every other shoe I had ever purchased for him until I discovered these about eight years ago. He's now 13 years old, and they're the only shoes I've ever bought him. They last until he outgrows them, are waterproof, and I buy them in black because they go with everything (pants, shorts, and even dressier occasions!). The best part is that they're reasonably priced at $35-$50. 50 is the average, but it varies. That's a great deal when you consider that you only need to buy one pair per year because they last so long. br>br>For several years, my ten-year-old has received these shoes as a gift. They are easy to put on and take off, which he enjoys as much as I do because he can put them back on in the car (he removes them within 30 seconds of climbing in). He can run and hike in them, play outdoor basketball or soccer in them, and they also look good with jeans for school events. They're also very durable!.
