(Even though I am in an area with good signal and have the unlimited prepaid plan. ) When I took it in to Verizon, they told me that this is a great device, but the problem is that it's hard to activate. The customer service representative advised me to return this model so I can get my money back and substitute another model in its place since it would not activate no matter what they tried, even calling Verizon hotspot wasn't effective.

It was impossible for me to navigate the screens on the first unit, so I returned it. Despite the improvement in the second unit, it still lacked a bit of quality. It is very difficult to even set up the unit with the touch screen due to intermittent connections. A refund was provided for the returned item.

The 7730L was becoming a hassle to use since I was perpetually having to power cycle it or turn off the wifi. I got this beast to replace the 7730L. Unfortunately, it appears that this is also an issue with 8800L Item is brand new, just like new! As an engineer, I find it difficult to understand why anyone developing a product like this would consider it a completed product, unless they just skip the debugging phase or are just not concerned with quality. I guess that's one benefit of purchasing it here on Amazon - at least it's a good deal. Rather than accepting such mediocrity, you can return it. Although, hey, if you don't already have a 7730L, I suppose it's good enough (and in general, Verizon's data coverage stands head and shoulders above the rest).
