I'm happy to have repaired my lens, not certain why it broke though? A complete mystery, phone was in the car and the call from it worked without problem, but when the phone was used 2 hours later the lens was cracked. To the best of my knowledge, the seat belt must have been putting pressure on it because it was on my belt in the otter box case? There is no way to protect these camera lenses with an Otter box case. Many of my years of using otter box have been with many different manufacturers. It was the first time a phone of mine got damaged while in use. As a rule replacing the lens is pretty straight forward if you know what you are doing! In the event that it isn't fixed, watch the Youtube videos and then take your phone to the shop! I promise you, 15 minutes is all it takes! Except for the hair dryer, everything in the kit is included! If your phone is in a case, turn it off, place it face down on something to protect it, and take it out. As you begin to heat the broken camera lens, heat especially the area around the break since this is where you will be able to peel Please note! If your lens is already broken, then you cannot get it off in one piece, in four or five pieces, just work it with the included tools. While keeping the heat applied, it took me about 5-7 minutes to soften the glue, and once you do, then the rest should come off. Make sure all remains are removed from the area by scraping them away with the scrapper included. WARNING DO NOT CLICK THE ZOOM BUTTON! IF NOT, YOUR PICTURES WILL GO BLURRY! Having removed all of the items and cleaned them up is the next step. Switch on your phone and check the camera to ensure it is clear and not blurry. Do not zoom or focus while doing this. Turn off the phone if you don't see anything on the screen of the camera. Clean the area where the new lens will be placed using the cleaning pads. Seeing the adhesive side on the back of the tab will make it easy for you to figure out which way to pull it so as not to touch the lens. align it and angle it down, and apply gentle pressure around the lens' edges. DO NOT PRESS HARD OR DIRECTLY ON THE CENTER OF THE LENS, or you wil end up with a blurry photo because your zoom home settings will be damaged. * Turn your phone back on, then check the clarity of your camera again. You should be able to see your base zoom clearly. It was a mistake on your part! This will have to be removed and you will have to retry. It is very easy for these cameras to have their zooms knocked out of their home position when in use. In the event you do not follow the steps correctly, you will make a mess. I don't think the issue is with the replacement lens, rather the problem is with the user. If you wish to have it repaired, you should consult a professional.
I really liked the price and the fact that it was the same as OEM for a fraction of the cost. It came with useful instructions and tools. When taking the broken glass off the camera and lens, take your time and be careful not to damage them. Make sure to blow away any shards that may interfere with the movement of the lens.
You don't have to be an expert in order to do it. This product looks like it just came out of the box.
My kit was delivered from Amazon to my door and repaired. I am thrilled with the Despite a tight budget, I was also able to save a lot. The product I'm using is great.
Awesome! I really like the way it looks.
It looks exactly like the original and is easy to install.
The installation was simple, and the price was cheap.
I'm not sure why there were extra tools? Then I used the alcohol wipe to clean the lens The only thing you need is a drying wipe. It does seem to work well,.
