After my camera and back screen were shattered during an update in December, I bought this to replace them. I was unable to use the phone due to the phone getting so hot that I couldn't even touch it. The Samsung products I received were inadequate, so I gave up trying to get Samsung to take responsibility. My phone's back screen with camera needs to be replaced, so I ordered it. I did not receive any instructions in the box. In any case, this is a very simple and straight forward process for removing I just wanted to share some ideas for other people who may buy this to repair their phones. The corn bag which goes in the microwave works wonderfully instead of a heat gun or a hair dryer. Microwave the corn bag for 4 minutes, take your phone and place it on the back of the bag for about 2 minutes, just throw away the little blue plastic wedges. The easiest way to run a tiny flat head screwdriver along the edge is to use a credit card or if the screen is completely replaced. As you remove the back, look where the camera lenses are at the top. There is a gold colored square there in the middle. Getting a mic for your computer is a must. Remove this device. Taking it off with your fingers is so simple, you just tap it off and put it on the new screen in the same place. To make sure that your back screen is free of loose glass, use the clean cloth and dry wipes along the outside edge of the phone to make sure you have removed any broken glass. If you take off the plastic around the outside edge and the plastic surrounding the camera, you will see either three or four small blue squares. The squares in blue need to be removed. Replace your phone with the other hand as you hold your phone. You should place the camera on top of the phone, so get it lined up with the camera on that. Start pressing the edges of the screen down as you work your way around the entire screen, keeping constant pressure until the glue is activated. It would be great to buy from you again if we need any more screens.
I had to move a small piece of the old cover to the new one, but otherwise it's almost perfect. There are already lenses installed on this camera. me from having to go through the process twice. All the tools in the kit are generic, small picks, a blah suction cup, etc. However, the tool set contains more information than the ones in typical phone repair kits. As well as the sponge, the package came with a metal spatula. That makes this a very simple task for someone who knows what they're doing. The spudger's edge should go in once the heat is applied, and the suction cup pulled. Picks help keep the glue tight, and a spudger slices right through any adhesive on the surface. The only drawback is that it does not come with any instructions. I would recommend wearing safety glasses because you will literally be removing glass from everywhere, as this is just glued on so absolutely no components need to be removed from the phone itself. For softening up the glue, I used a hair dryer. It can be completed in a few minutes other than that.
A total of five different areas were damaged on the mine. As I have found that contacts paper works very well to hold most of the glass firmly in place while working around it, I suggest putting clear contact paper over the back. Working over a tray is best done with glasses. Obviously, the phone gets messy and the glass will fly, but now it works just as well as before! I have an S20 ultra and this fits perfectly. Easily installs and takes no time. One little chip from the back of the old glass had to be transferred.
I had to replace a screen on my camera that fell off the back of my truck and had my boat trailer run over it crushing both sides. It took some work to replace, but it includes a frame and works great.
