There is real leather on this bag. pointed out, the leather isn't the best quality or the most supple, however, for the price you pay, the quality is pretty good.
The two sides of the paper are only used. Felt is the first side you use. There is a smooth leather side and a felt side.
You take your razor to the cloth strop (could also be made from some other material) after you hone it. Once you have the leather strop, you are ready for the next step. Do not cut that strop to pieces if you don't know what you are doing. There is no doubt in my mind!

Welcome to the world of sports. Adding another strop to the mix is very nice. A different manufacturer made the old one, so I had to retire it. cannot remember its name, and it was nowhere near as good as I had hoped for. Compared to the old one, this new one is much better The two different kinds of leather you get to use are very appealing to me. The one on the left seems a little smoother than that on the right. It is worth mentioning that I use this product to keep the edges of The final step after working on the stones for some time. Initially, I'll concentrate on the darker leather, then move on to the brown "smoother" side to finish it off. In fact, I would purchase a second one if I liked this so much. According to the description, there are two sides one is leather, the other is canvas. As far as I know, this has nothing to do with canvas. In terms of materials, the leather side is a pretty decent-quality piece of leather, and the foamy pleather side has a low-quality fabric attached that is not even close to being a believable canvas alternative. No matter how much use you put it to, it will never hold up. As for the $27 worth of it, I took it off and set it aside. Obviously I made a mistake when I sent it in with other stuff and thought I paid less than that because I would have returned it right away. So far, I have used it quite a bit. I am able to fine tune my sharpening by using the regular rough leather part. It would be best if I purchased a piece of 4" x 24" leather and affixed it to a small piece of white board next time.
These two strops can be used in a variety of ways and there is probably no one best way to use them. As you can see, I use a fairly dull straight razor to perform this task. In addition to sharpening a straight razor with an 8000 grit water stone, I use the green paste to sharpen the blade on the rough underside of the genuine leather strop. I then pass the poly strap about 20 times on the rough side. My straight razor is then used to make about 40 passes along the smooth side of the genuine leather strop to achieve a smooth close shave. This is a good book. I thought the price for the service was good.
This is an extremely good deal! It is entirely made up of junk parts. It has almost all flaked off from the nice metal brass color on the clasp. It has only been a week since I got it. Leather that feels like plastic has been treated in a way that makes it of really bad quality. fake leather strip that is supposed to be fabric is actually the backside of a fabric strop.
Originally, I purchased this strope for my straight razor, but it has also served me well on my kitchen knives. When I hone my kitchen knives with my steel, I then run them through the strop a few times and the knives are razor sharp. It works really well with my straight razor, as well as it's big enough to accommodate my 10" chefs knife. Oh yea, it's 22" long so it's also big enough for my 10" chefs knife.
The strop is the perfect starter if you want something that you don't have to worry about cutting yourself or nicking yourself. This would work for those who don't mind spending a few bucks on a strop, but I think most people will move up to something made of better quality and designed better.
