In the red color scale, the grit ranges from 6500 to 8000 It's 8000 grit for me (I think it also depends on the quality of the leather strop you bought) *br> While the green grit is around 4000-grit In my personal opinion, I feel that you should use the 5000 a lot before you begin your knife session.

This stuff is great, but the tube is a tiny one, This product is rated 4 stars only because it is too large. I loaded two 3 X 8 buffalo strops with eight dots of paste each and smoothed it out using one finger while wearing rubber gloves. I can't believe how far she got.
