I had one of those rubber ducks that tells you whether it's hot or not before I bought this little guy. They don't work very well, and you can't tell how much the water is "too hot" when using them. This little guy will tell you and you can see it without having to flip it over like the ducks, as well as having a light to let you know. br>I burned my little brother's foot trying to give him a bath when I was a kid, so I've always been worried about doing it to my little one as a result. You can also turn it on in the room ahead of time to see if it's too cold to take a bath in. br>It's safe to say that this is my favorite baby bath purchase.

- It occurred to me that knowing the exact temperature of an adult bath (. When a mother with children gets one, it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. When stepping in, it removes the element of guesswork. It's especially useful for deep tubs like ours, where filling takes a long time, but I imagine it'd be beneficial to anyone, perhaps especially the elderly.

until it passed away =( This duck is one of my favorites. It gives me assurance about the temperature of the bath water. It also allows me to set the temperature for each bath to be consistent. The only thing I'd say is a little wonky about it is that it turns green when the temperature drops too low. Blue for too cold, green for just right, and red for too hot, you might think. But that's a simple problem to solve. br>br>5-year update 2016 - This duck was one of my favorites until it stopped working after five months. It worked for one bath after I changed the batteries. Now I've got a duck that doesn't even make a squeak:.

Only a month's worth of work: My crocodile was a huge hit with me. Unfortunately, after a month of use, this broke. I took precautions, as suggested by other reviews, and only used it to check the temperature before removing it from the bath. I didn't let my son play with it because I was afraid it would break if it was submerged for an extended period of time. Well. In any case, it broke. According to the reviews, this product is hit or miss in terms of durability, and mine was a miss. Unless you really want a crocodile and are willing to take a chance on its longevity, I would recommend purchasing a different/ more reliable product.

This thermometer has a charming design and is simple to operate. br>br>I gave it a five-star rating because it is extremely cute, appears to be well-made, does the job, and is extremely simple to operate. You can change the temperature from F to C with a simple button press, and turn it on with another button press (or it will turn on automatically when submerged). I still think this is a fantastic product and would give it a five-star rating. 1) I've been using this to check air temperature, and it appears to measure VERY closely (occasionally one degree different) to a much more expensive room thermometer that I used to check this against; I don't have anything else to check water temperature, so I can't verify this, but I can't imagine it would be any different. br>br>2) There is one thing I'd like to point out: You should try to keep this thermometer out of the water completely. I didn't do it on purpose, but I did let it float under the stream of water filling the tub, pushing it underwater. The thermometer in the center is merely a press-on device. Fit into the outside plastic alligator/crocodile part, which has a small hole on the inside that will let water in if submerged (I imagine the water pressure will be high enough to break the press-fit). between the thermometer and the alligator to form a seal). It's not a big deal, but the water is difficult to get out (and doesn't evaporate well due to the small hole), and the thermometer will float unevenly as a result of the water inside. I believe that if you just float on top of the water, you won't be able to get any in. br>br>If you're pro-business, I believe you should be pro-business as well. a dab of 100% silicone would prevent this from ever being a problem (100% silicone should be baby safe once it is dried).

For my newborn baby, I purchased a crocodile dreambaby thermometer. When my son was born, I used a different brand, but it was no longer available. Because I have a hard time determining whether water is too hot or too cold, this type of product is a must for me, and it works well. When it's too cold, it flashes green, and when it's too hot, it flashes red. The temputare is also displayed digitally. It's easy to use and cute, and I think it'll last a long time for my toddler.
