Questions & Answers

On the plush toy or in the instructions, there is no mention of volume control. I give.. I'm looking for it. ?

There isn't a way to adjust the volume. On/off is all there is to it. However, I enjoy the volume because it is not excessively loud. I found some night soothers to be quite noisy. This soothing device is one of our favorites. They're expecting their second child, and they'll be having one as well!

Is it possible to change which sounds are played, or does it only play white noise?

It plays snippets from various songs. It doesn't play white noise, and the options are limited - Squeeze to turn on the music and the lights, and squeeze to turn off the music and the lights. There are two volume settings, as far as I can tell. It is well received by my children.

What kind of batteries is it going to need?

Two AA batteries are required. However, take note: After a few months, ours began to leak battery acid! Ours wasn't the only one, according to other reviews.

Long before the music stops, the light on the giraffe we bought goes out. Is this the way things are supposed to go? What's the best way to reactivate it for him?

If you want to turn the light back on, you must first turn off and then on the music. Otherwise, the light will not turn on again until the cycle is complete. It's designed to turn off the light while playing music in order to aid baby's sleep. The giraffe that our daughter has is adorable!

The advantages and disadvantages of this toy in comparison to other toys of the same type
4/5

My first child has both colors of the seahorse, which I highly recommend. At home, I wear blue, and at Grandma's, I wear pink. I wish they offered more colors of the $12 seahorse, which I have purchased for everyone I know who has a baby, but they do not. To avoid future fights, I had to find another option for my second child. I tried a few and found this one to be the most like the seahorse, with a few features I prefer even more: br> Has a few time settings so it can play longer (I sat by my older daughter's bed many nights to turn the seahorse on again until she was sound asleep)br> Light is on for a few minutes and then fades as music continues to save battery (smart move!). )br> The music box is easily removed, allowing the toy to be washed.

- It isn't as adorable as the original. While it is extremely soft, the spots are printed on the fabric, giving it a cheap appearance. However, it is extremely soft, which is what matters most. br>- I believe it became stuck behind my pillow one night and now has trouble turning off after a minute or two (I fully acknowledge that this is most likely due to being laid on). I guess that's the price you pay for being able to turn on so quickly. )br>br>A personal preference - I liked the bubble sounds overlaid on the seahorse's music and missed them, but that's probably because I'd grown accustomed to the seahorse's music. br>br>I'm still on the lookout for the perfect bedtime toy with adjustable volume and time, as well as being cute, durable, washable, and simple to use for the kids without being easily broken. The Gund whale has just arrived. Our second child sleeps better, and I think she might enjoy the ambiant sounding water sounds more. It was more expensive, couldn't be washed, and only had water sounds that stopped briefly like a gif file. Small hands can easily turn on the tail, and it should withstand being laid on. Oh, the hunt for the ideal bedtime companion!.

This is far superior to the previous soothe and glow
5/5

I prefer this to the older soothe and glow seahorse because the music lasts longer (around 15 minutes), the fabric is softer (super soft), it's washable, and the lights fade out after about 5 minutes. My son liked the seahorse, but its tummy is harder and less cozy, the soundbox isn't removable, so it can't be washed, the lights are brighter (too bright to soothe to sleep, I think), and the music only lasts about 5 minutes, so on rough nights, my son would get upset after the music turned off, and I'd have to go back in and soothe him again. When I put him in his crib sleepy (he's 20 months and has had the seahorse for about 10 months, but recently switched to the giraffe), the giraffe soothes him to sleep, and he's usually asleep before the music stops playing.

It's gentle, but it's also a little loud
4/5

The Playskool glow worms' design evolved from cute to alien and strange looking a few years ago. As a result, we went on the hunt for a similar item for our youngest child. The giraffe was chosen by his older siblings. br>br>Overall, it appeals to me. It has a sweet expression on its face. It's made of a soft, cuddly fabric. The tail, ears, mane, and tag—haha—are all places where little hands can grab. I'm glad it's machine washable (let's be honest: who doesn't want their clothes to be machine washable?). Otherwise, I would not have purchased it). Turning the music on and off is a breeze. It's a good size, and it didn't come with any of those annoying plastic tags that get stuck inside toys and clothes (you know what I'm talking about). br>br>My only gripe is this: It makes a lot of noise. It's relatively quiet if you're out in a room with other people doing things. It will, however, be loud if your child wishes to sleep with it in a quiet room. I was rocking my son (and his giraffe) in his bedroom and wishing I could turn down the volume. If your child is going to fall asleep cuddling the giraffe, music may not be the best choice. Yes, the music is soothing and relaxing. For a bedtime toy, it's a little too loud.

Absolutely fantastic! I had no idea how difficult getting your baby to sleep could be until I became a parent
5/5

My son's bedtime routine has consisted of me rocking him to sleep and then carefully placing him in his crib or bed for the past 18 months. My son has always been a big kid (he weighed 10 1/2 pounds when he was born!). This wasn't going to be easy. There were a lot of nights when I thought I had rocked him to sleep, only for him to wake up the second he was in his own bed. It used to take me about 1 hour on average to finish a task. To get him to sleep at night, it took me two hours. My son never slept through the night, and by 2 a. m. , he was usually in bed with us. 00 am. br>br>Welcome to the world of the magical giraffe. Why wasn't this brought to my attention sooner? I was a sleep-deprived zombie for the first 18 months of my son's life. My evenings were spent attempting to put him to sleep. to the present time. We've had the giraffe for a little over a week now, and it's fantastic. It took a little while for my son to fall asleep the first night I used it because he was so excited to have a new nighttime toy to play with. This kid falls asleep in 15 minutes now that he's used the giraffe. It will take 20 minutes. "Okay, time to lay in your bed with the giraffe," I tell my son after a glass of milk and about five minutes of rocking. " He then gets into his bed without resistance, turns on the giraffe, and by the time the soft light on the giraffe goes out (5 minutes), my little guy is snoring like a maniac. I usually stare at him in a stunned state for a few minutes after that, expecting him to wake up, but he doesn't. He's even slept through the night twice in the last week! I'm blown away by how well this tiny stuffy can relax and calm babies. br>br>Buy this if you're going to a baby shower for a friend. It has the ability to quickly transform a friend into a best friend. If you're going to a baby's first birthday party and you know the little one has been slowly robbing his parents of sleep for the past year, this is a must-have. They'll be grateful. Spend $12 and give this a try if you have a toddler who has trouble sleeping. I regret not purchasing one earlier. In fact, I'm going to go out and buy a second one to keep around the house "just in case. ".
