My son seems to drop a lot of food on the floor while we are doing baby-led weaning. I was super excited for this product. This thing was getting on the rug, so when I found it, I was thrilled. Upon receiving it and placing it under the high chair, I was so happy that I couldn't wait to express my gratitude. As soon as it arrived, I noticed the fabric felt like regular fabric. There may be no way to just wipe it up easily, but I expect it to be easily put under a high chair so that we can feed him steamed sweet potatoes and avocadoes. There are some on the ground, of course. I went to wipe it off, but the material just smeared and soaked in. In other words, it now looks dirty and needs to be cleaned. The item is to provide information rather than entertainment, which defeats its purpose. My expectation was that it would have a plastic top, rather than a fabric one, so you can wipe it easily. The return will be in the near future. The first time I used it, I washed it in the washer.
It was so irritating to have to clean the food off of the flooring, then the flooring itself, and that mat has now solved that problem for me. It's easy to clean that mat since it covers a lot of area and it's large enough to fit a lot of food. It's easy for me to shake it off in the grass if there is a big mess on the mat.
