A toddler should not wear this. The part that holds food is smaller than I anticipated, and I'm really hard-pressed to fit it all in. It might not actually seem that small after I saw the listing with the measurements, but considering it measured the entire mat, I guess it did not seem that small at all. There are 2 spots on either dish that hold food. Both hold a little over 4" wide. The largest points measure 4" up and down on the larger dish and a little over 2" on the smaller. Just over an inch depth is found in this hole. Neither the suction power nor the power of the jaws are impressive. The product would be good for an infant just beginning to eat, or perhaps as a small snack for a toddler. I have a 212-year-old daughter who likes to pick up her plates and throw them on the floor when she's finished. This placemat was intended to help her control this behavior, but as it is so small, she will only be able to hold a small snack that she will finish in minutes. In addition, the suction is worse than the cling it provides to the plates and dishes. As it'll probably cost less to package it up and ship it back than I paid, I'll probably keep it, and if it doesn't work for us, I'll give it to a friend whose baby just Nonetheless, it's adorable and would likely be perfect for a baby that is younger. Sadly, we are not interested in it.
I guess it absorbed the soap or something, so I can't use them anymore. I've tried rewashing the plates by hand and dishwasher and no matter what I put on them, when I taste it, the taste is strong. There is a distinct taste of dish soap to it. The silicone plate would be just fine for me, as long as it is of better quality.
They were, however, difficult to remove from the surface because of the weak suction power. As far as I know, my issue is with "they" alone, since I ordered a replacement plate (there was no problem with it) and the same thing happened. Could it just have been a batch of defective products? There are a lot of advantages to these plates, including their durability and size.
This suction cleaner is very easy to clean and has a great suction. Only thing I don't like is that the entree (bigger) section is too far from my children. To make eating easier for her, I turn her plate upside down, but then the piggy is upside down too. Though my 10 month old doesn't have much trouble reaching the compartment that's farther away, it might be an issue for you. Otherwise, there are no complaints, the plate is great!.
In 10 months, my child will be able to pull this right out of her high chair. However, it is so adorable! As for the size, it is a little smaller than I expected. Although it's fine for now, I can see it being inadequate as my baby starts to develop her own appetite.
I bought a cute baby bowl for Toddle but she has a habit of grabbing at it. I am trying to feed LO while holding down the object so that she will not pick it up when the suction doesn't work. Aside from that, this is a very large book.
This idea sounded great to me. In fact, my daughter likes feeding herself, so this was a perfect idea for her. The suction is excellent, and the characterization is accurate. However, the food compartments are not as large as I was expecting, but it is a good product nonetheless.
