In order to hook up an inverter in our travel trailer, I needed some 1/0 copper wire. My first stop was at a big-box store in town. starting with the letter "L" and ending with "owe's" is a box home improvement store. They had 1/0 copper wire on hand, but it was extremely stiff. I'm pretty sure I could have made a pair of stilts out of it. Not good for my project, so I went to a different local big-box store. They had what appeared to be the same stuff as the big box home improvement store that begins with an "H. " It wasn't quite as rigid as a 2 X 4, but it wasn't going to be easy to make any sharp corners. The third location was a battery and accessory store in the neighborhood. I can't recall the first letter of their names. They had fantastically flexible 1/0 copper wire, but it was a LOT more expensive than the stiffer stuff. Finally, I went to Amazon and took a chance on this wire, which has turned out to be fantastic. I've made several battery cables with this 1/0 wire, and it's a dream to work with.
My cable fits the car audio wire without being a 0 guage link, as shown in photo, if I use my cable more often I may need to look for another product of this quality. When I see something this good it's not a 0 guage wire.
The conductor is extremely thin. Insulation is the majority of the project. This isn't the same as a true 1/0. 2 AWG is a better guess. The size is deceiving, and I'm not sure if it was 15 feet long. Was a little shorter and a little thicker than my 4 AWG. I would have bought something else if I had known how thin the copper was. It's not cheaply made, but it's also not well made. If you require true 1/0, you must purchase something else.
1/0 audio cable When compared to the audio system cable I used to relocate a trunk-mounted battery, this is a huge improvement. My car wouldn't start because of a voltage drop, but after replacing it with an EWCS 1/0 cable, my vehicle started right up. I would buy it again.
I used it for solar cables because it was very flexible and fit my needs perfectly. I'm not sure how long it would last dragging it around the shop if used as a wielding lead.
This cable appears to be of good quality. It helped me move the batteries in my boat. a switch for the batteries So far, everything has gone swimmingly.
Don't waste your money on CCA, and don't blow your budget on $300 amplifier kits; instead, invest in this wire, which is more flexible, easier to cut, and true to size.
1/0 cable with a solid core. It was used to upgrade one of the "Big 3. " Everything went smoothly.
