NO, IT IS A FAIRLY STIFF WIRE THAT DOES NOT EASILY UNWIND.
I don't think so for hooks, and I'm not sure about glass.

a high-power resistor After three manufacturer-supplied power resistors, I decided to buy this wire to make my own power resistor for my corded electric mower. I discovered that the actual power dissipation requirements were much higher than the manufacturer's resistors could handle after the supplied resistors burned out after only a short time, and that the actual power dissipation requirements were much higher than the manufacturer's resistors could handle. So I made my own out of nichrome wire and Plaster of Paris to absorb the high power. So far, it's been a success. After the blade has been turned off, the resistor is used to quickly stop it spinning.
We're a small company as well. The Nichrome wire was used in the construction of a homemade plastic substrate bender. It accomplished its goal of heating and melting plastic to the point where it could be bent into the desired shape. br>In just two days, we finished a $2000 job of 200 tent signs for a local motel. br>We'll make a foam cutter out of more wire.
Last year, I bought this to make a new heating element for our toaster oven after one of the originals failed near the end of its life. There have been no issues in the 1 year since the repair. br>br>If you're using this to repair or replace a part, make sure the diameter of your wire is the same as the original - That way, you'll have a similar resistivity to the original, and the same length of wire will provide the desired resistance.
It turned a faint shade of green for some reason, but aside from that, it worked perfectly in the keln for sculted art works.
Excellent service with a quick turnaround.
This is an excellent product.
The quality is excellent. It served as a capacity tester for my batteries. I even poured some water on it, and it is still in excellent condition.
