I had no problems connecting the electrode holder, ground clamp, or cable connectors. I welded 1/2" plate uphill with no problems, using 6010 root and hot pass, 7018 fill and cap. I also had no problems welding 4" schedule 40 carbon pipe in the 6G position, 6010 root and hot pass, and 7018 cap. The following are the only distinctions between these and previous cables: 1) one of these cables is red, 2) these cables are a little stiffer, probably due to the fact that they're new, and 3) I got a crisper arc using these, but that could also be due to the new electrode holder, ground clamp, or cable connectors. Great cables and welding leads in general.
This cable was required to connect my travel trailer's three lithium batteries to a 2000-watt inverter. They're well-made and extremely adaptable. If I ever needed more, I'd buy more.
I needed a 2/0 cable I could bend and manipulate to fit into some tight spaces. This cable is fine stranded, full copper, and has a thick insulation that is easy to shape and form to your specifications. I was able to make excellent high amp parallel battery connections using the right cutters and a hydraulic lug crimper. br>br>The cables do not even get warm when under heavy load. I'm now completely convinced of the increased safety and improved current flow that these cables provide. This wire is very flexible, and the price is comparable to the quality. I used it to rebuild a battery bank in an RV.
I used it on my 7 and it was fantastic. To make a new battery cable, you'll need three diesel engines. Flexible in its approach.
