Not all 6 gauge cables are created equal; this type of cable can safely carry up to 80 amps. I personally loaded my cable with 100 amps.
Unless your load increases significantly, you should have no trouble running 60 amps over 4 feet of 6AWG wire.
To be safe, I'd use 4 gauge wire, which would be better in the event of a surge, which is more likely to occur during startup.

On one of my ATVs, I needed to replace the battery cable. br>br>I needed the 6g wire to match the OEM cable, so I ordered it. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at how adaptable it was. Because of the heat near the engine, I was concerned about the outer rubber jacket. br>br>Because of the flexibility, installation was a breeze. It hasn't been bothered by the engine's heat in the least. I considered the voltage drop and resistance on the Leighton cable to be insignificant. On cold mornings, this is especially important. Would I buy it again? br>br>Would I recommend it to others? You bet!.
br>br>Although some reviews claim the wire is too small, it is clearly the right size for the advertised gauge. This has been my experience with WindyNation's 2,6, and 8 AWG wires. It's a fantastic deal. br>br>I would recommend the wire and would purchase from this seller again.
20' and 3' cables were ordered from a 25' order. I received a wire that was only 19 inches long. The length is approximately 5'. I'll have to look for another piece of wire and hope that it's long enough.
