The aluminum rail measures 17 inches in length and is made of aluminum.
I'm not familiar with Neiko, but I can attest to the quality of my Olga socket organizer.
I've never had a problem with 1/2" sockets coming loose. They were a tight fit. I have more 1/2" deep well sockets than is typical and have had no problems.
Yes, both ends of the aluminum rail can be used to secure the socket holder.

I've tried two different socket rails. They are pricey, as others have pointed out, but you get a lot of bang for your buck in this case. br>br>They're longer than most I've used, allowing larger sets to have more sockets. Additional socket clips can be purchased in sets, which comes in handy if you need to make a rail with various length extensions. I have a black rail with 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 swivels, as well as a variety of adapters. Advantages: br>br> br>br>* Longer and with more clips than the majority of rails. br>br>* Sockets have a good grip on the rails. Even half-inch socket sets held them in place when turned upside down. br>br>* Aluminum that is very strong. br>br>* Create a rail for extensions, swivels, and other adapters by mixing 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 sockets on a rail. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>br>* A magnetic strip on the bottom to hold rails as an option would be nice. br>br>* A socket rail tray designed for these rails would be useful. br>br>Recommendation: br>br> These rails will not let you down. br>br> For a rail set like these, the price-to-value ratio is spot on. It is highly recommended.
This socket organizer was well-made in my opinion, and I expect it to last for many years. All of the sockets went on and off of the socket clips without a hitch. I like that you can customize the number of clips in these organizers, so you can add more if you want to organize larger sockets, or less if you don't. I intend to buy more of these, and because they come in a variety of colors, I'll be able to see exactly what I need before I buy anything.
To distinguish between metric and SAE sockets, I purchased both blue and red colors. I've bought several brands of rails over the years and have found Olsa's to be the best at a reasonable price; I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good socket rail.
These rails are strong and sturdy, and they can easily support heavy sockets. br>br>I only wish I could have ordered the red rails for the SAE sockets, but they were out of stock when I placed my order.
As an engineer, I expect my tools to be of the highest quality, last indefinitely, and meet all of my requirements. I was afraid that if I looked for a socket organizer, I'd end up with something cheap or flimsy, because sockets can be quite heavy (especially long sockets). I didn't want the sockets to be too difficult to remove from the organizer or too loose that they would fall off. I also didn't want a flimsy system that would flex, bend, or fail over time. br>br>So - I discovered these organizers to be the most perfect thing I've ever seen. Aluminium is used for the frame. Although light in weight, it is extremely rigid and durable. The fact that these are available in three different colors is fantastic. I went with one color for 1/4" drive sockets, one for 3/8", and one for 1/2" drive sockets. However, metric and English sockets could be colored differently. To match the organizers' color scheme, I wrapped colored tape around each of my drivers. br>br>The clips that hold the sockets in place have a ball bearing that works flawlessly. The clips are nylon, but they appear to be sturdy, and the ball bearing provides just enough resistance to keep the sockets in place without making it difficult to remove them. The end cap on the aluminum frame prevents the clips from falling off. It's a little tricky to remove the endcap - That suits me just fine. It will undoubtedly remain in place and will not be removed by accident. br>br>The nylon clips are compatible with all of the organizers. So you can get a 3/8" socket organizer and a 1/2" socket organizer, and then swap the clips between them. So, by rearranging the clips, you could make an organizer with a mix of 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" socket drivers.
The sockets are securely held in place by the posts. When I tried to remove an end cap to remove a couple of posts, I was extremely disappointed. With only a little pressure applied, it snapped. I attempted to remove the item using the removal instructions, which were, in my opinion, woefully inadequate. In any case, the escape is extremely low-cost and poorly designed. When they first arrived (I purchased two), I was ecstatic, but now I'm not so sure.
These items are good value for money and can accommodate large 1/2 inch drive sockets. The rail end retainer is a plastic retaining clip that keeps the socket clips from falling off when picked up at an angle. I wish there was a three-piece kit with only 3/8 or 1/2 inch clips. If you have any old stamped metal socket strips, the plastic clips will fit right in and are much easier to use than the metal clips that came with these organizers.
I wanted to try these out first before writing a review - I'm glad I didn't rush into things. While they are beneficial, the sizing was a little off, and the sockets began to fall out of place. I'd give it a ten out of ten if I were standing still. Because I work on the road, I can only give them a 7 out of 10 rating until they become magnetized.
