However, there are almost always extra screws and other items in them. The following are the reasons I chose this set of trays: (1) There is no such thing as having too many of these around! (2) These are larger (nearly 6" in diameter) than standard (around 4" in diameter), allowing for more storage; (3) the painted finish, which makes both the tray and the contents inside it easier to see (as shown in the attached photo); (4) The smooth bottom makes it easier to get things out of the tray and distinguish what's inside (the brand is embossed in the bottom of a couple of my other ones, which is an annoyance); (5) The tangerine orange color is actually pleasing to the eye (this is a bonus, but it's still preferable to neon orange or safety yellow). When these arrived, they were immediately put to use, and I'm sure more will be ordered because I always keep some on hand in the house, garage, and wherever else they may be needed. This set also included a telescoping magnet as an added bonus. When I need something, I usually use a magnet on a chain, but the telescoping one gives me a lot more control. It's a great addition to the toolkit, and my daughter has enjoyed using it as a fishing pole to help me pick up electrical box knockouts from the floor. Multi-tasking is a great thing to have. It can be used as a tool as well as a toy!.
This model appealed to me because of the bright orange color, which stands out from the crowd, as well as the high quality of the paint job. It was also well packaged. The manufacturer went above and beyond to make sure it arrived in good condition. Sure, I could have saved a few bucks and gotten the chrome and other frills. The orange, however, stands out when attached to my toolbox and is of good quality.
In my house, I see and quilt, and I frequently drop pins. This keeps them in place and makes it simple to pick them up if they fall.
The magnet base is rubber-coated, and the paint appears to be powder-coated for long-term durability. Oh, and this butterfinger prefers the telescopic magnet to the trays, lol.
I've been wanting one of these for years, and now I finally have one. It has an orange color to it. That's a huge improvement over chrome. I gave one to my son because there were only two in the pack; he has a lot of others, but none of them are orange. I haven't used the magnet on a stick yet, but I have in the past, and it was chrome, which was a bummer. This one has a swivel head, which should make it more entertaining, and it's orange.
These are fantastic. I've been using them a lot lately because I'm renovating my room and have a lot of furniture to put together. I also keep one at my desk to serve as a catch-all. The frame of my desk is made of metal. It is extremely useful in preventing items from falling to the ground.
I like the fact that there are two large magnetic trays and a smaller one for small jobs. Two magnetic pick-up sticks are included as well. All magnets are powerful, which came in handy when I was doing auto repairs at home. I would strongly suggest it.
My husband keeps small computer screws in one container, while I keep quilting clips in the other. Everything is very visible thanks to the orange color. This item comes highly recommended from me.
