You could stand them up, but that's not what they're designed for. They'll stand up on a flat, stable surface, but it'll only be about an inch wide, so it won't be very stable.
Hello, the rails are number 23. On the outermost point, it's 8mm wide, and on the inside, it's 16mm wide. The grove measures 73mm. There are a total of 26 clips. At its widest point, it's 35mm wide. br>The rail is 17" (431.25 cm) in length overall. 8mm)br>If you have any other questions, please contact us at [email protected]. Best Regards, Rod, combr>
Olsa and Ares appear to be the same rails. Both are present in my possession. The clips and end caps can be swapped out at any time. It's almost as if they're made on the same assembly line, and they're a great way to keep my sockets organized. The red and blue Olsa rails are where I keep the SAE and metric sockets. On the black Ares rails, I keep my impact sockets and torx bits.
Yes, as long as they're all 1/2-size. If some of the screws are 3/8ths, simply purchase 3/8ths clips and install them on this rail like I did.

It has a nice appearance and a good grip on the sockets. It's easy to position holders for socket spacing because the rails are nice and smooth.
BUT: If you try to use them in a position other than horizontal, the holder will slide down as soon as you remove a socket; to replace it, you must slide the holder back into place with one hand while replacing the socket with the other. There are no serrations on the rail to keep the holder in place as you go vertical and remove a socket; it simply slides down. I recommend the Ernst Rails for any application that isn't horizontal.
I wasn't sure about these when I was debating whether or not to buy them. I've had those flimsy sheet metal socket holders before, and they're terrible. . . so I wasn't expecting much. But wow. . . I'm so glad I bought these rails. They're sturdily constructed. All of my sockets fit snugly, and the socket rails are attractive. However, there are only a certain number of socket clips available, but you can purchase more. . . which I did. Simply Google "ball bearing socket clips" and you'll find a plethora of options. br>br>Having said that, I am pleased with my purchase and will purchase more as needed. They're well-made, and extra clips can be purchased if necessary. Make sure not to go overboard. Consider this one; they're well worth it!.
It's made in a way that I like. The plastic bits that hold the sockets in place do an excellent job of holding the sockets in place on a simple but sturdy aluminum rail. br>So far, my only gripe is with number two (silicone?). ) caps at each end of the rail, the sole purpose of which appears to be to keep the socket holders from sliding off the rail. br>That was purely coincidental. They need to devise a more effective system. br>Give it enough time, and those caps will lose their grip after coming into contact with any common auto shop chemicals. br>I considered using zip ties, but the sliders are propped up from the flat rail, so the zip tie won't even come into contact with them, preventing it from sliding off. br>The only long-term solution I can think of is a nut and screw through each end to serve as a positive mechanical stop. 🙂👍.
So far, this is the best. Great Quality at a Great Price. I recently purchased these tool socket organizers, and I am very pleased with them. I just placed an order for more so that I can finish organizing all of my sockets in my toolbox. They're great for impact and deep sockets. The quality of the rail is excellent. The colors red and blue have a nice look to them. I have yet to order the green or black, but I plan to do so soon. I like how smoothly it slides up and down the rail, and adding more socket holders is a great idea with the sale of additional socket holders. From my toolbox to my car, I carry these socket rails with sockets on them, and they don't fall out. I was planning on getting the Ares magnetic rails as well, but I'm waiting to see if these work first because magnet rails are a little more expensive, and I have a lot of socket sets because I have multiple boxes and offsite use. So far, I've only heard good things about them from other companies. If you're using larger sockets, the longer rails are recommended.
The product is excellent, and the sockets are securely fastened. I wish the end designs were better engineered to keep the socket clips in place and prevent them from sliding off. All that is required is a rubber cap, which can easily fall off and result in the loss of some of your sockets if left unnoticed. The rubber end piece is then lost, and handling the rack must be done with extreme caution.
Heavy sockets will want to slide off these rails, which is a shame. Bolts or zip ties were used by some to fix the problem. I wrapped one zip tie around the rail and then another through the slot, wrapping the first zip tie around it to secure it. The second zip tie adds tension while also preventing the first from being pushed off. I've attached a photo in the hopes that it will be of assistance to someone. These and the ABN brand ones are identical as far as I can tell, so buy whichever one is the best deal.
Rails are nice and straight, not bending. I recently purchased a set of Carlyle sockets, which came with flexing and rolling plastic rails. These are far superior to the cheap plastic rails. They're able to stand on their own. The socket connectors can be placed in either direction (intermittently opposing each other) if desired. They're quite reliable. I had plenty of extra socket connectors because they used the same connectors as the Carlyle set. br>br>It's not a big deal, but all I'd like are some extra end caps so I can cut the rails and put the caps on the shorter segments.
These rails hold sockets in place no matter which way you turn them, and they're well-made, attractive, and the right size. My 1/4 inch sockets have been bouncing around in their drawer for years, making it difficult to find the one I need. Because my eyesight isn't as good as it was 20 years ago, having these organizers helps me to feel less frustrated! The color options are ideal for distinguishing between SAE and metric units. They're great, and I'm very happy with them.
