By extending the hose, you are able to check the pressure easily. It is handy to have a live read since it allows you to get the exact pressure you wish, overfill, and then let down until you reach the desired pressure. Despite Amazon's estimate for shipment time, Speedway Motors fulfilled my order quickly. I received my gauge quickly than the estimated time for Amazon. Speedway is the best! The following information consists of notes 1 and 2. There is no way to put a CR2032 battery in the unit I received. A pair of LR44 batteries or something similar is required. Those aren't CR2032 batteries, as you can see in my picture. In fact, it said on the instructions it takes a CR2032 even though it didn't come with one. Would love for it to, but it does not. The following is a note from note Apparently, this gauge (and probably others) have been marked as incompatible with a lot of different vehicles by some unscrupulous vendor. There is no truth in that statement. All vehicles would be able to use this gauge. Having a look at the alternative gauge, it is probably easy to guess who designed It is imperative that Amazon clamps down on this sort of behavior. I'd like to report this abuse, but I'm not sure how to do it.
Accuracy is good, and the quality of the build is excellent. There's a problem with the battery dying after only three uses in three months. The above value is incorrect for the average use case, and the resulting measurement of pressure poses a significant problem. There is an obvious passive voltage drop that drains the battery when the unit is off due to the poor electronics design. Due to the fact that I rarely use it at home, it has become almost non-functional for me, and even then having to swap the battery every 3 months is inconvenient.
After many years, my Snap On pressure gauges stopped working. I purchased this for the purpose of replacing them. In the past, I have usually preferred analog gauges, but I thought the larger size of the digital readout helped to hook me on using this device. There is absolutely nothing to complain about with this There is an excellent fit between the components and the construction is excellent. Moreover, it appears to be easy to use and the gauge is appear to be accurate. As I mentioned, you need both hands to hold the gauge so that it can be read properly and sit on the stem properly. I believe this is entirely normal for some users, but it seems to be a problem for others. In reality, it doesn't take much effort to twist the gauge as needed to read the face of the gauge. I think the design is perfect as is and swivels may improve this, but they also tend to leak after use and I would prefer this design if it were swivelled. The hose is a bit stiff, but this might be a safety precaution to prevent kinks and The valve stems on my rims sometimes require some finessing for proper sealing, but there are many slight variations from brand to brand and type to type in the valve stems. Since the end of my valve stems is a bit smaller than that of rubber stems, they are metal The advantage of this is that it has no drawbacks for me. I think this is a great gauge, more so even on cars with TPMS (tire pressure monitoring systems). It is very critical to maintain your tire pressure, even on new cars with TPMS. In addition to improving your fuel economy, this gauge will also save you money by ensuring your tires are at the appropriate pressure. that you set your tire pressure as described on a sticker on your door post or in your owner's manual provided by your auto manufacturer. Setting the pressure at the top of a tire's max pressure is not recommended.
I'd like to clarify one thing up front. You shouldn't expect exceptionally high quality from this Longacre gauge because it's from the lower cost line. The good news is that once you get past the low cost packaging, it's quite good. My old digital gauge didn't have replaceable batteries, so I got this to replace it. The other digital gauge I own from Longacre is good so I decided to get this one as well since I had a good experience with it. Our cabin houses this device so it is not used often, and when I have time at the cabin I use it. There are many problems with this gauge. While it functions well, it feels much cheaper than their high end units. The button doesn't have the same feel, the hose is inferior and the display is Trucks do not belong here). The reason for 4 stars is *While this would be a great primary gauge, it would be more expensive than what most people are comfortable with, so it's not a perfect primary gauge. Packing is cheap, there is no case, it is too small in gauge, and it is too expensive. It is only two pounds of accuracy (vs. There are 2 for their higher end models)
In general, this is a good gauge from a good company, but don't expect a super high-end product.
There is a version of this tire gauge with an analog readout, but it can only display a pressure in psi up to 60. This gauge was the best fit for my needs since it can measure pressures up to 100 pounds per square inch. Compactness makes it a good device for portability, though the size of the readout is limited by the relatively small head. A tire gauge like this will serve you well if you don't have any trouble reading the display. The length of the hose and chuck is 16 inches for those who need to know.
bought the Longacre 53036 Tire Gauge for my M series BMW. I run ZR (rated to 186 MPH) rated tires, and since they are expensive, I like to make sure the pressure is maintained at the correct pressure in order to keep my tires in good condition. My opinion is that it does a good job. I've checked the calibration and the readings are spot on, so I have no problem recommending it.
It's hard to overestimate the quality of these Longacre pressure gauges. Continuity, accuracy, and reliability are guaranteed. She offers them on Amazon at a great price. Do not try to use a brass shrader valve adapter to clamp onto a racing tire thread like I did. Their differences make them distinct from each other. You should instead grab hold of the silver knurled part that rotates with vice grips, and then remove the entire right angle racing head with a wrench. You will see that 1/4" npt thread you should use is exposed.
You can read it easily. I love the fact that I can easily bleed off air to get the precise PSI I need. In addition to replacing a Jasco on my Karting track, I am very happy with it.
