Questions & Answers

I need to make a cross-section of a cross-section of the cross-section of the cross-section In an engine that hasn't started since 1984, a threaded spark plug was found. Is there a drill bit included or available, and if so, what size is it?

No, the kit does not come with a drill. We use a step tap to rethread the hole with this tooling for stripped out spark plug threads. br>Removing the head is recommended if you're trying to remove or drill out a spark plug. Also, do not drill any holes larger than the diameter of the spark plug, which should be 12 mm or less. The reason we say to remove the head is that if you try to drill out the actual spark plug and it screws itself into the chamber halfway through drilling, you won't be able to get it out without removing the head.

Is this kit compatible with my Honda Elite 80 scooter, which was manufactured in 1986?

It should work; just make sure the thread size and pitch are correct, and take your time doing the work. You're removing metal from the environment.

Is it possible to clean up the thread with a thread chaser before inserting an insert?

The tap included in this kit (4212-1) should not be used. Because it is for tapping the hole for the insert, it is oversized, use 125 to chase the threads. The video below shows how to install the M14, but the procedure is the same. http: //www. http://www.timesert.com/html/howtosp html

Every penny was well spent
5/5

This is an amazing set. I've used helicoil kits before, but this has to be one of the best. I installed the helicoil in a V-shaped configuration. It's a perfect match and it works. The installation was a breeze thanks to the stepped tap. As I told the guy as we were installing the helicoil, take your time and don't try to rush the job. We greased the slots to ensure that no shavings fell into the cylinder. Fill the slots with grease, cut a little, back out, clean the grease and shavings away, and repack the slots as needed. I didn't keep track, but I'm sure we did it at least ten times before the procedure was completed. Depending on how handy you are, you could save anywhere from $500 to $1,000.

There is no other option
5/5

I'm on the verge of making a purchase. There is no other option. I'm about to buy a kit to repair or replace the threads on the most commonly used fasteners. These tools are simple to use, and the thread inserts are effective! These are fantastic tools. I replaced a spark plug thread without having to remove the motorcycle's head. The thread insert outperforms the metal threads that came with the machine. The tools are fantastic.

Buell XB engines are compatible with this part
5/5

I used the medium-length inserts to resurrect my Buell Ulysses. I had to rotate the engine to get to the front cylinder, but I didn't have to pull the heads (I just greased the tap to catch the chips). The kit has a solid build quality to it. True, HSS is not a low-cost option- o taps. The compression washer mating surface is cleaned up nicely with the facing tool (with the spring).

This is an outstanding product
5/5

This product did an excellent job of repairing a harley's stripped spark plug hole. The item was well-packaged, and the instructions were detailed and easy to follow. If you use this product, make sure to order the high-temperature loctite and apply it halfway down the outer threads, so it is pushed up as you install the insert and no loctite drips down into the cylinder.

This can help you save hundreds of dollars on car repairs
5/5

One of the spark plug holes in my Mini Cooper was stripped of its threads. The cutting tool performs admirably, and I used a lot of grease to keep the metal chips from sticking to it. The new insert fit perfectly, and the tool was incredibly simple to operate. If you need to reach far into the head, such as in a Mini, I recommend using a quarter-inch Drive set with a lot of extensions. I needed several extensions, as well as a 9mm socket for the end tap and a 13mm for the insert tool's end. I also used a mini camera with a light to ensure that all of the metal chips in the cylinder head had been removed. The car runs great, and I didn't have to take it to the shop to have the head repaired or replaced. Excellent product.

Excellent Quality and Simple to Use! The quality of this kit is excellent, and if you follow the instructions to the letter, it will work flawlessly
5/5

My sxs spark plug hole was severely stripped, so instead of spending $500 on a new head, I purchased this kit, and my sxs is now running like new. Fill the tap with grease and inspect it on a regular basis, as metal chips can quickly accumulate. I also suggest applying red loctite to the thread insert and allowing it to cure for 24 hours before restarting the motor. This is something that I would and will recommend to others!.

Exceptional quality
5/5

Yes it costs more than other sets, and YES it is 100% higher quality than cheaper sets. It was well worth the money because it is of excellent quality, performs as expected, and saved my commercial mower's stripped spark plug hole. It should take no more than 20 minutes to complete the task. Trust your purchase.

Although pricey, it is well worth the money! There's nothing worse than having to possibly remove the heads!

I ordered this to repair a 2015 Fiat 500 Abarth Cylinder Head Thread for the spark plug and works 20100% of your car is s br>br>One issue with this kit, in my opinion, is the price point
5/5

I believe a reasonable price is between $50 and $100.
