I don't do a lot of plug wires, but after messing up one, a professional appearance and secure fit was well worth it. Other jaws didn't quite finish the crimp properly, so the other little crimpers came in handy. The labeling of the astro jaw is a little inconvenient. The only disadvantage is that they are longer than the other jaws, and because of the way they snap into the tool, there may be a slight registration issue with the tip where they don't want to mesh properly. I had to pinch it with my fingers a couple of times to get it to line up, then finish the crimp.
These crimping dies for spark plug wires do an excellent job. These dies are compatible with both the Astro 9477 and the Wirefy crimping tools (see photo). Wire crimpers with ratchets are simple to use. As a result, regardless of the name printed on the tool, the dies are frequently interchangeable.
This is a good die that should probably come with the standard 9477 kit but isn't too pricey on its own. Allows you to crimp spark plug wires in a professional manner.
I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, but it appears to be of high quality.
The universal 8mm performance spark plug wires are perfect for crimping the terminal ends to the wire with the Astro 9477 H1 jaw.
