Questions & Answers

Will this kit fit a newer vehicle, such as a 2010 Ford E150 with the 5.8L engine?

If it's a 2 valve 5, then only.

Is this compatible with a 2003 Ford E250 5? 4 v8 16v?

I think so, but I'm not sure if the spark plugs are the same size as the ones in my Crown Vic (4. 6L) Apart from that, it's the same series of modular engine block as my 4, and it has an aluminum cylinder head. The engine has a displacement of 6 liters and is SOHC. Is it a size 14 thread? 5/8 hexadecimal hexadecimal hexadeci

Is this for a three-valve engine or a two-valve engine? Is there a difference between the two, or are they interchangeable?

Two valves are listed on the instruction sheet.

Professional in every way
5/5

It was a total success. You could probably make one if you wanted to, but this kit was perfect. The tap and reamer both have depth guides, which is a nice feature. It has a drill bit-like reamer, a cylinder-shaped guide to keep the reamer centered (it has a thing sticking out the side to keep it from spinning), and a cylinder-shaped guide to keep the reamer centered. It wouldn't hurt anything if it spun) and tapped. br>I used it on a v10, which necessitated the purchase of additional 389- Insets with a total of 100 threads. On Amazon, I found a WASTOREEL brand that was reasonably priced. Those inserts were much better quality than the ones that came with the kit, but the ones that came with the kit worked just as well; they just weren't as shiny. br>I had intended to use high-temp retaining compound on the inserts, but I went with JB Weld instead. br>br>I removed the intake manifold (which made the job a lot easier). Getting the shavings out of the cylinder was the most difficult aspect of using the tool. On the reamer and tap, I did a lot of tapping magic. I blew out the oil, then filled the combustion chamber about 5 or 6 times with a good squirt of brake clean (I used 4 or 5 cans in total), blowing out the combustion chamber each time. I have a great bore scope, but I've never been able to get all of the flak out. Some of the smaller ones became stuck near the piston (near the rings) and on the head (by the valves). I didn't mind because they were so small. br>Of course, the threads had to be spotless in order for the JB Weld to adhere. After letting it sit for 24 hours, the engine was ready to go. If you own one of these engines, you should definitely get this tool.

If you require it, purchase it

Nothing else comes to mind. If a spark plug blows out, you have a few options: Sell your car and pull the trigger (good luck!). ), hire a pro (which will almost certainly cost more than the car is worth), or purchase this kit. br>On the passenger side, next to the firewall, I blew out the number 6 plug. This kit came highly recommended by a YouTube video and performed admirably. Yes, the job was costly; I had to purchase glue, lubricants, spark plugs, a USB camera, and air tools, and I had serious doubts about my ability to complete it; however, I had no issues. Not only that, but the car is in excellent condition. You'll have to work hard to mess it up if you follow the instructions or watch the video on YouTube.

However, this kit turned out to be ideal, as he learned about it from watching videos
5/5

This was purchased by my husband in order to repair our Ford Expedition from 2003. A local shop quoted $900 for the repair. My husband repaired the car in an afternoon (really, it didn't take that long) using this kit, which saved us over half of the cost. He said it took him a while to figure out which kit to get because he needed a larger size, but it ended up being the perfect fit after watching YouTube videos about it. We saved a lot of money, and we'll be ready if the same thing happens again!.

LIFE SAVER I've given my car the name Lazareth because it has risen from the dead
5/5

My three plugs blew out, and I was about to give up, but I bought this. I downloaded how-to videos from YouTube and kept them on my laptop as we worked. I also bought a borescope separately and used it to monitor the progress of the job. The perfect Mustang is still alive and well today. If you've never done anything like this before, it'll take you around 3 hours. Once you've done it once, it'll take an hour. At the very least, you'll need a 20 gallon air tank with a 150 psi capacity and an air ratchet.

I saw a video on YouTube and ordered the kit from Amazon, which is my go-to site, and it worked perfectly
5/5

You can save a lot of money by doing it yourself if you have some mechanical ability and do your homework to get the right sized kit for your motor. The air line, which ensures that the piston is at the bottom of the stroke, and the guide, which ensures that you are drilling and tapping at the correct angle, are both excellent features of this kit. The kit also includes eight permanent inserts, so you'll be prepared if the problem arises again. Note; Make sure to watch the DVD included in the kit. As of the date I ordered my kit, it's been about a year. 07/03/2016 Ford has not issued a recall and does not appear to be planning to do so anytime soon, but keep your receipt in case they do. Some people are attempting to file a class action lawsuit, and there are websites on the internet that can help them do so. For the time being, this is the most effective method of dealing with the problem. Thank you, Amazon, and thank you, ATD. This kit fulfills all of its claims. My 5. 4L Triton is a badass once more.

The product is of excellent quality and is simple to operate
5/5

The kit is of excellent quality. This was my first time taping a spark plug hole with the kit. It worked perfectly, and all of the pieces are of superior quality to the parts store thread repair kit I purchased and returned. I used Loctite 266 to tap two spark plug holes and they're holding fine; it was well worth the money to get a long-lasting, professional solution to a common Ford 5. 4 problem.
