Although I cannot recall the project for which I bought this socket, I am fairly certain it was a 1996 Dodge Ram Van with one-ton In this socket, there are flat areas and rounded areas. It is not a standard 12 or 6 point socket. If you'd like to check the ball joints and see if they have the same rounded and flat areas, it's best to examine them. My guess is that it will work if that is the case. Similar sized items are unlikely to exist in more than 1 size.

It's great that I had a tool to use with this such as an impact gun. It was really hard to remove ball joints from the "A" frames because they were rusted, but the tool did the trick. Through its use, I was able to remove the upper ball joint from a 1998 Dodge B3500. Whenever you are removing the control arm, I highly recommend removing the ball joint first, so you can rely on the weight of the vehicle to help hold the arm. With the Help of an application, I was able to accomplish my goal.

This is a very nice and heavy product that is well made. Our team of two used a 1/2 inch ratchet and a 2' breaker bar to remove ball joints that had not been touched for 17 years with little effort. It's probably one-half of one-half. Dodge vehicles are not a good time use unless you work on a lot of them. Because of the odd size, the piece makes for a good conversation piece.
