Questions & Answers

When you opened up the C, how wide was it? There is a loaner vehicle at the auto store, but it is too narrow. It appears OTC also offers a wider range of products. ?

In its simplest form, the opening is 6 inches without a screw Half an inch. The screw is about 6" wide, which is the widest you can safely go without removing it. In this case, you would press the U-key A joint. were to use it to press ball joints, then it would obviously cost less depending on what adapter you used.

Do I have a guarantee that the otc 7248 c frame press I'll receive will be made in the USA and not in China?

Max, great to see you. You will have to use the C-notes as my only answer to your question An example frame may look like this Components from all over the world are sourced in the USA. What you will read into that is up to you. The tool is heavy and thoroughly manufactured as you would expect for being 'Made in the USA', and has nice features such as the freely rotating anvil at the end of the screw and steel ball to aid in taking the end load generated by the screw. With no sign of warpage or other damage, I have replaced a number of driveline UJ's with my own. It seems to me that this tool is very likely to give many years of excellent service, and I can only agree with the comments of the other satisfied customers, in fact the feedback from others played a significant role in my decision to purchase.

With this tool, what type of socket do you use?

It is recommended to use a long 1/2" drive breaker bar and a pipe lever on a 13/16" Impact socket. Please make sure the threads are kept lubricated. The product is good for my joints and also for my U-joints There are joints. When you install the ball joint, make sure that every side is squared up and that the hole at the center is clean.

Does this fit the Honda accord 2003 and up The following are the 2007/Acura TSX models Is the knuckle of 2008 still there?

With my Honda Accord 2005, I had no problems with the system it worked perfectly. This is a very heavy duty job!

A high level of professionalism
4/5

I am amazed! The following is a C- certified product made in the USA Initially, I did not expect to find a frame as beefy as this one. I would say that it's designed more for the professional than the weekend warrior, though it's great for the weekend warrior as well. The first one I got had a manufacturing defect that caused the screw to bind. I would have given it 5 stars if it hadn't been for that defect in the threads. In addition to sending a replacement right away (bad quality control), Amazon made sure that the problem was rectified efficiently. The device would be even more convenient if it came with a case without the need to buy additional accessories. the size, I don't see how one would be able to remove/install a ball joint without taking the knuckle off the car, even with a lift, as there just isn't enough clearance on the mounting surface. The Honda Civic looks crazy (at least on a jacked up model). You want clamp) then it is this.

"Maitre de tous les universitaires" A joint
5/5

This is how I change 4 you There are a few joint ventures per As I continuously load the crud out of the rear suspension on my two track cars doing laps every day, I go up and down from 4,000 RPMS to 6,500 RPMS, three to four times a day. The use of sealed u-tubes makes perfect sense In the beginning of every season, replace the swivel joints (they're stronger) because dropping the drive shaft on the catch loop at redline tends to eat the In this dog you slide them out, then push the new one back in like a quarter cranking up a new one. ChapStick is one inch in diameter. There is no need for cups or anything else With any old flat stock, used to make blocks or blocks of some kind, you can press the joint cap just fine, and you can block the open end with the worm screw. Reinstall brake pads by pulling up the backing, or what have you. As a bonus, I can toss it in the tool chest I take with me to the track, and if I start feeling frightened, I can just plug it in This may be used in the paddock to swap the joint out without a vice. Try it with your 20", if that will work for you. Harbor Freight has a ton of presses! For tightening the worm, I use an impact wrench, but a breaker bar will work just as well. There's no problem fitting a standard-sized socket over the worm end (I can't remember what size it is The solution is not effective for ball joints -- I haven't tried it There, I'm the guy who mostly uses hammers and pry bars. In any case, as long as you have room to fit it in there, I am certain it will do the trick. Probably the main situation where a real press is no substitute for it is in transmission rebuilding.

For Tough Items, Quality Heavy Duty Tools
5/5

OC 7248 C dates back to the mid-1960s It is a Frame Press u-bead Tool for separating Ball Joints, Brake Anchor Pins, and Anchor Pins is heavier than its dimensions suggest and should be a good choice for its intended purposes. As this is a quality C-, it won't twist, shatter, warp or break We print on frame presses. This procedure was used to remove a ten-year-old stain Universal joints from the factory were installed on both drive shafts of a 2003 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4's. The car has 115,000 miles on the 0L engine. It was used for the kind of OEM factories that use this kind of press Having endured 9 Alaskan winters in Fairbanks AK below 0 with a few that went to - and back after they couldn't be greased, the joints ended up in Texas and back to Alaska after they moved to the South. 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I don't know What's the difference between the original OEM factory u-v The bearings on the joint were orange rusty after all of those years! This device enabled them to be removed with much ease after they were frozen in place. I will also use it to get rid of 10+ year-old items It should be possible to replace your old Jeep TJ ball joints this Spring with the OTC 7894 Ball Joint Service Adapter for Jeep/Dodge and it should work fine. Please note The Jeep JK Wrangler has a completely different adjuster and is not compatible with the JK Wrangler. As those newer Jeeps are different in this regard from the older Jeep CJ/YJ/TJ/MJ/XJ models, I am not sure what that model is. In fact, I perform all my Jeep maintenance myself as I would not be willing to pay $95 per hour for anyone else's work. My goal is to learn as much as possible and to do what I can do Since I have never done this type of work before, a proper tool (such as this one) was necessary. This is it in order to make it a relatively easy task. The work was simple and I slowed down and thought about it as I went along. The following are a few of the applications I used this tool On both the vehicle I used it on and the vehicle I used it with The car I mentioned above was brand new and had only 7 miles on it when I bought it. The expense of this press will be recovered in its first use A ball joint or a joint needs to be changed It is definitely worth checking out!.

This book is well worth the price
5/5

That's a really heavy duty ball joint, at least it's better than the cheap Chinese ones that come with these Made in the USA is a plus, and that goes a long way towards explaining why it is such a quality product. There is no doubt that this is a great.

I am very satisfied with this tool, it is of high quality and contains no unnecessary "things"! My 1996 XJ Cherokee had Universal Joints that needed to be removed with this press
5/5

I find it easier by far than banging on things with the BFH and sockets. Plus, it's a whole lot less irritating to My yolks were rusty from ancient caps, so I took them out With ease, you'll be able to hear! It is advisable to lubricate the threads before use, and to tap the yolks ahead of time When you crank, let the tension out of your ears. Henceforth, this will be part of the trail kit that never leaves the Jeep ! The fact that this press can be purchased without all the ball joint adapters is especially appealing to me since I would never use them, but that it can be equipped with the Jeep/4x4 adapters (sold separately) if I ever decide to try An assembly sticker appears on it saying that it is made in the US of foreign parts or something It seems pretty solid so far, but I have only ever had to use a 1/2 drive ratchet, so who knows how well it would hold up against I want you to I am very glad to be able to enjoy joint replacements. Update

using this tool for about a year now, I've done another set of front-end inspections for a client There is a u-shaped axle There are two sets of driveshaft u-joints as well The tool has not bent or caused any issues after I used it on Jeep joints. Now that I have used this press with a 1/2in drive breaker bar, some stubborn U-bolts seem to be working It held up just fine under a wide range of conditions. This tool is the perfect example of how much easier a job can be with the right, quality equipment. You can replace the U-shaped part with this tool A person with 2 hands and a few wrenches can do a lot of the work on a joint.

I am glad to see that it is made in the USA
5/5

It is a powerful This tool was purchased as a replacement for an HF tool that bent on one of my Dodge Ram This tool is proudly made in the USA, and I am glad to see that. Tool was packaged in a good cardboard box that could be used to store it. Paper was used to wrap everything up nicely. A manual and instruction book are included. It appears that the tool is very well constructed. The overall experience has been satisfactory to me.
