Selected User Reviews For MOOG K80628 Ball Joint
I saved $$$$$$ on this purchase. My girlfriend's 2007 Dodge Ram with 130K on the odometer and original suspension parts was quoted over $2K by a local "stolen" dealership for replacements of the upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, and the tie rod ends themselves. It cost about $265 in parts to do it ourselves on a day's work. The process of removing the factory ball joints took more time than installing the new MOOG parts, but it went smoothly. When the MoOG parts arrive, I'll be very happy with the grease fittings that come with them, and if the truck runs another 100K before I need to replace them, then there won't be any problem. In the past, I bought an OTC ball joint installation tool from Amazon that worked quite well, but I had to use a cutoff wheel to remove as much stud as possible from the factory ball joints to ensure that the tool would fit inside the ball joint. It is also essential to have a torque wrench for this task, along with a large socket to deal with the nut that secures the axles to the knuckles.
I put it on my ram 1500 exactly as expected. The ball joints arrived in good condition, did not have any issues. They were difficult to install but they could be done without much difficulty. Everything you need parts wise for the ball joints came with the joint. Simple instructions made the task easy to complete. It is unlikely that I will need to replace ball joints again on my ram 1500, but if I do, I will get MOOG parts. We had a good ride and it was even better than before, and we had a little more tight steering as well.
The MOOG Problem Solver ball joints are of the highest quality. We guarantee a lifetime warranty on all items made in the United States. All of these parts are the only ones I will ever buy for the front end. Over the past 40 years, I have never had to replace a MOOG!.
This is the worst product I've ever used! The box was enormous, 18" by 18", and it came in a large bag. It arrived in a good box, however the ball joints were rolling about outside of the packaging (the MOOG boxes). I looked them over and they appeared to be in good condition boots were good as well. * Fast and simple installation. I had a difficult time installing the grease zerks, and the nuts that came with one side didn't even fit! I have finally installed the software. A distance of about 1200 miles and a trip that lasts about three I fear the boot is ripped out of the shoe and things are squeaking. They are the worst company ever and I will never buy from them again.
Looks good. All the hardware was included. It's easy to install. This is what I wish for them.
All of the details were.
I found this to be an excellent fit for my upper control arm on my 2006 Ram.
The installation process is complete. Say no more to the manufacturer's lifetime warranty. This is a quad cab 4x4 installation for the 2008 SLT. The OEM joint had to be replaced after 60K miles and seven.
