Selected User Reviews For OTC 7403 Steering Wheel, Flywheel, and Pulley Puller
First of all, I chose this OTC puller over some of the less expensive pullers since I wanted a tool that was made in the United States. I may not be a professional mechanic, but I do the vast majority of my own work on my classic muscle car and you'll find myself building a collection of tools over time. As far as I'm concerned, purchasing products made in the US is also important to me, and I may be willing to pay more if the price is reasonable. There is a label on the package that says "Assembled in the USA from global components-" Components sourced from other sources are acceptable, however. The product photos show the product to be stamped or etched with "USA" everywhere, while mine isn't. The steering wheel pullers that I have seen have only two "arms," and my Grant wheel is secured to the adapter with three bolts in a triangle. There are a lot of pullers that have 3 arms that are also flywheel pullers, and they usually have larger bolts, so this kit did not come with bolts small enough to pull my Grant steering wheel adapter, so I had to get That said, once I got them, the system worked without a hitch. There's no doubt that it's going to be good Almost any flywheel or harmonic balancer, even some OE steering wheels, will likely fit with the bolts included in this quality part. Bolt size appears to be large, it appears to be hardened and includes both a blunted tip with an angled cover for swiveling but it does not include a swivel mechanism. Only thing keeping it from being a 5 is that it needs work I would rate it a 5-star rather than a 4-star My one-star review is due to the fact that the bolts are too small to fit It seems odd that Grant wheels have been omitted for a product that is marketed as pulling steering wheels. I understand they can't include EVERYTHING, but Grant wheels are very popular.
A problem with the flywheel that I purchased was discovered after I installed it, and I realized that I had purchased the wrong one. When everyone found out I had broken down, I was miffed and wrote RMStator a less than friendly email. Later, I was able to fix the quad and go trail riding with friends. I was kindly told that I was indeed wrong and that they would be happy to assist with an exchange or refund as they are professionals in their field. My bank issued a full refund less than a week after I requested a refund, even though the part I need was not in stock. CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT IS TOP NOTCH!.
As far as I am aware, there is no difference between made in the USA and assembled in the USA (though there are versions, such as made in the USA with foreign/global components). It would be nice if industries would stop playing games. The set fits Honda (Acura) TL models from 2004 and up perfectly. A drive puller such as this one is recommended by the factory service manual, and it is perfectly suitable for this application.
P. In the past, I removed the steering wheel without this tool. The next thing I knew, the cable reel had come loose. It was a nightmare (you can't do it if you don't know how to do it). Pull the steering wheel only with a puller if you need to undo it.
This was bought a while back to replace a broken unit, and was used for the very first time this Great piece of equipment, and I was quite pleased with the bolts it came with since one was the right size for me.
My first impression is that it seems pretty versatile. I'm happy with the way it works so far.
It's a great program.
The 250 pound pulley was used for that purpose. An engine for a boat. This is a tough, tough, tough job. After multiple uses, it is still in good working order.
