It is, without a doubt, a mineral spirit. It's a water-based solvent that works well and cleans just about anything, but it leaves an oily residue after cleaning.

It needs to be beefed up a bit

It didn't perform as well as we had hoped for. Oil is a tough substance. grease . It's only useful for brakes and other minor repairs. Not suitable for engine components.

It's not powerful enough! This was recently purchased at a local auto store

It isn't worth the money because it isn't strong enough. Maybe ok for grease, but "dissolves instantly on contact" for oil and the rest of the list is a no-no. It's just not accurate to label it that way. I put a cylinder head in it for two days and left it to soak; I didn't clean any of the oil out of the head at all! The Gunk CC3K carb cleaner, on the other hand, is fantastic; it cleaned it up in under 24 hours! If you're looking for a way to clean your engine's internals, this isn't the product for you.
