A 55 gallon drum of diesel fuel is pumped out of this pump. Despite a lot of pumping, I couldn't get it to work when I received it and assembled it. Plews and Gatzies (the seller) got in touch with me. It was no problem for Gatzies to send me a replacement pump. It was great to work with their customer service team! As soon as I received the new pump, I discovered the same problem. After the pump stopped working, I decided to disassemble the pump, which allowed me to learn how it works. As a result, when I assembled the suction tubes and attached them to the pump, I found I had followed the directions too closely. As stated in the instructions, you must make sure that all the suction tube connections remain Among other things, I made sure the suction tube in the pump itself was tight. As I discovered later, it seams that the threaded portion of the suction tube that screws into the pump is too far away, and when tightened into the pump, it interferes with the valve controlling the flow of fluid I installed the pump as normal, but left about 1/4" of the thread exposed when I screwed the suction tube back into the pump. There was a great pumping effect after that.
This is not a very sturdy product, but it does the job. We had to trim the plastic lip around the male threads so that it would drop deep enough into the 55gal barrels because they aren't really long enough to go into the barrel. A pump like this would not have been functional if the barrel wasn't plastic. The windshield washer fluid is what it works for at the moment. The length of time it lasts will be interesting. He is dead. I didn't have to wait long for that. Waste is being disposed of in landfills to a greater extent. Having used the yellow rotary one for over a decade, we also have the old-fashioned one. Over a decade. The next one I'll buy will be this one. I would not recommend this for a long-term investment.
The cheap plastic pumps don't work as well as this.
A good pump to use Only issue I have with this barrel bung is that it is not screwed on.
Despite its excellent performance, the pump does not fit into a 55Gal plastic drum without an.
I like the product but the packaging could be more appealing.
This is an easily breakable material. There are many plastics on sale.
It is a good product, it works well.
