First and foremost, ensure the crank diameter is as close to perfect as possible

A set bolt which broke when tightened on a manual crank gas tank shaft was installed on the gas tank shaft. I believe that the casting needs to be near perfect in order for the crank to fit without cracking the setting bolt. This is an unpleasant experience, but I would add sleeves to the shaft until the crank is tight then tighten the bolt. I'm unable to return the part, so I've learned a hard lesson that seems to be repeated a lot.

There is only one reason why I gave this only three stars the hole for the handle is 3/4" wide. Despite the description mentioning 7/8 shaft, it never stated that fact for us. As far as I can tell, I did not see Thank you.

I needed a new handle for the pump after the previous one broke. It was not possible to locate the appropriate one, so this one was settled on. A crack appeared in the handle after tightening the set screw. You have to take care with it since it is made from a cheap cast metal.
