Whenever I tried to thread the caps on the tanks, they wouldn't fit. A spare EU2000i from a different year is available for me. When I called the manufacturer, they said it had to do with differences among It's funny, that's for sure. The quality problem at Honda is not a concern to me. There must be a Honda cap for every model Honda.
Each time it failed during a trip, the generator would run out of fuel because the fuel tank would fill up so quickly. In my observations, the gasket used with the supplied gas cap is difficult to seal and requires a lot of effort. The straight edges on the top of the cap, combined with the sharp edges, make it difficult to tighten the lid and seal it. My first thought is to use slip joint pliers, but I fear I will break the Honda fuel tank neck if I use them. It is apparent that the hose is rotting near the clamped ends, both ends of the flexible hose. A worm gear clamp has been used to seal the hose after it's been trimmed. I have still been having issues. In the short term, I am using the extend run tank as a storage container.
Is not very good at siphoning. I wasn't impressed with the seal quality at this price point.
