Questions & Answers
In addition to spring being rated in pounds, the tester is made in such a way that makes the gauge properly read. As for your specific question, if the spring actually weighs 120 pounds at that height then the reading will be 120 lbs. This type of tester has a margin of error, so it is used best for comparing springs of different types.

For the price, it's a good deal. Although not a tool I would have bought for my everyday use, I find it ok for my once in a blue moon usage and accuracy level. I will take my springs to a machine shop if I need more accuracy. If you live in an environment like that, this product is highly recommended.
While it was consistent in readings, it read differently than another spring tester, so I am guessing as to whether or not my clutch pressure is correct.
Thank you for recommending this small tool. I have used it on a few different Cylinder head springs and it is interesting to see how well old and new springs perform both closed valve and open valve for different applications. If I had to buy it again, I would.
This product keeps your engine running smoothly. Highly recommended to get the most performance from your engine!.
I like it.
I was very happy with the results! I'm happy with how the job turned out!.
With my body weight and a set of new springs, I succeeded in testing this. I believe that the weight is within five pounds between 100 and 200 pounds. My method is to set it up in the vice on my mill and then use an old lifter in a 3/4" collet to press it Using the quill DRO scale and stop, the entire spring tester setup can work just as well as the best professionals.
