One way to find out if that part of the fitting fits the elbow is to try screwing it in. Tapering is one of the features of pipe threads. The threads on a flare fitting are generally straight.

Upon installing it, it was very difficult to get it to stop leaking once in place. It felt like I was going to break something with how tight I had to get it to stop.
This was purchased to use with Assembly was as shown in the picture. Due to insufficient clearance, the Schrader valve cannot be attached to either the pre or post filter ports. However, by removing the Schrader valve and angling the stem away from the fuel bowl drain, it can be installed in the post filter port. The pre filter port on my vehicle cannot be used An elbow that is not deep enough to clear the fuel bowl when threaded in will fail to clear it. I was able to use it in the post filter port in the way that I needed it to.
I loved using this program because it was so simple.
After grinding down the female end of the elbow to get it to work it did work. If it had actually fit the elbow I could have rotated it on but after it didn't allow me to do so, I had to alter the elbow so that my arm would fit.
The project went smoothly.
