Questions & Answers

What is the potential for this to work with the Ford Mustang?

It appears to be so The Ford you mentioned was not from what year. As high as 100 PSI can be measured with this gauge. For the proper pressure at the fuel pump, check the Ford Specs.

What do you think of 8 vs 8?

The Chevy Silverado's V8 is an 8 liter engine. An electrical connector should be located on the fuel rail for Schrader test ports. It is a Schrader test port directly connected to the coupling on the test hose in the CP7838 Fuel Pressure Tester Kit.

Is it possible to put a 6-liter northstar engine in a 95 Cadillac Eldorado?

It is true the Actron CP7838 Fuel Pressure Tester works on a 1995 Cadillac Eldorado with a 4.2 liter engine. Engines such as the Northstar '6l' have their test ports at one end of the fuel rail, close to where the fuel lines are attached.

Everything seems to be working fine, but maybe I received a defective unit? Only one time have I used it since I bought it a few months ago
4/5

The tool seemed to work well and was a decent tool all in all. Earlier this week, when I took it out to use it a second time, I noticed that the part in the gauge's connector that holds down the valve pin when you attach it to the Schrader valve had fallen out. It is thus no longer possible to use the gauge. I emailed you saying that it could be that I just got a defective unit ACLON's customer support was notified of the failure and checked whether a new one would be provided I will update this review if I receive a positive response from them. The update for December is included below. On the 30th of June, 2016, Actron and OTC announced that they had entered into an agreement to both sell to This is the initial response I received It is not covered by any type of warranty if components are lost. As a result, the missing pieces are considered consumable pieces, and need to be replaced at regular intervals to keep the tool functioning properly and to prevent leakage from escaping onto It is possible to purchase both items in a kit that includes five of each item (seal and depressor). This is an update from January. The 4th of August 2017 has come and gone and I am updating my review to four stars, as they are shipping the replacement parts to me free of charge, even though I'm outside of In the event that you have trouble with your warranty, I recommend you call at the number above rather than e-mail I'd like to hear from This is an update from January. For the price, that does not seem too bad
3/5

Was able to test my fuel pressure using this gauge. It is a good gauge for the price. I like that it came with extra attachments for other vehicles, too. retrospect, I would have preferred only to purchase the gauge and remove the accessories since they were no longer necessary. There's a chance I'll be able to utilize the T My vehicle did have the appropriate size quick connects for an attachment to tie into the fuel line before the fuel filter, but I was unable to use it. The product was never advertised as serving this purpose. This gauge is nice because of the long hose and the rubber coating around it. Despite the pressure in my vehicle being relatively low, I was able to read it easily. I have included a video showing the pressure that my vehicle was reading before the fuel pump was replaced.

Quality and value at the right balance
3/5

I have bought this product a second time because it is a good product. As far as I am concerned, this tester has been very useful for any application I have had to use it for. I believe that gauge and hose are of a decent quality, and will be sufficient for my use. It appears the adapters are on par with major brands in terms of quality. There is no blow-molded case with Actron, so it comes in a cheap plastic pouch, which is awful. While Actron might not be a top brand, even the cheap brands sometimes come in a blow-molded I have used this tester for many years and have never had an issue. Having lost my first one, I borrowed a Snap-on holder to hold it while I waited for my replacement I'm running it on a This one and the last one both read about the same after I received this one. I can tell that whether there was a difference in quality or not, this is a strong product. If you are a DIYer, purchase this and you will not be disappointed. In terms of accuracy, it's right on par with truck brands at a fraction of the price. However, even as a DIYer I could be happier with a better case. I would give it a 1 star reduction because of that. Another reason for the star reduction is the overall quality of the build.

An adapter that belongs to GM is lost
3/5

A few months ago, in March of 2018, I used this for the first time. Repack the bag and put it back in. Nov. 1, I had a chance to use it. I hooked up the engine for the second time this year and there were no fuel pressures. I need it to test the suburban since the fuel pumps go out quite a bit on them and I didn't notice the gm adapter was damaged the last time I used it. I think it must have fallen out when I used it and did not notice it before. So I don't have to live with a $55 dollar paper weight, I hope Actron will see this and send me a new hose. Being cautious about the end is all you can do.

The product is defective and the customer service is terrible
5/5

Yesterday I used it for the first time, and it leaked through one of the fittings like a sieve. The water leak was so severe that it wasn't even useful. My call to Actron customer service resulted in it being said that I would need to purchase replacement parts and that there was no guarantee. Despite the fact that this needle gauge was brand new and unused, Actron would not stand behind their product! Whew! This was a lesson learned, I won't buy anything from them.
