Yes - It was recently installed on a 2002 MDX. After removing the back hatch panel, I had to route the camera wire through the license plate screw hole. The wire was then routed to the side of the car, along the back of the hatch, to the hinge, and finally to the light via the weather seal. It was an excellent solution.
I'd have no idea if I hadn't placed it in the center of my plate. But, if I had to guess, it could be centered anywhere in the back. You have the option to change things up. down. It would be fine if it were mounted in the middle. In daylight, the screen is extremely difficult to see.
Yes, you must connect the monitor to the parking lights if you want it to turn on when in reverse. You can connect the camera to your car's reading lamp or fluorescent lamp if you want to keep an eye on things all the time.
No, I do not believe that is true. There is no slot for a storage card to be inserted into it. It's ideal for use as a backup camera. If you contact customer service via email, you can inquire about which models are capable of recording. They've been extremely beneficial.

In terms of installation, this is the most straightforward reverse camera I've ever seen. This camera is not only simple to set up but also to use. The majority of the reverse cameras I've seen have a large wireless transmitter that connects to the car's front-seat screen. This camera has a built-in wireless transmitter, as well as a small box that is connected to the cable and keeps the signal stable. This camera is already connected to the dashboard screen. br>Auto Vox products are of consistently high quality. br>One feature that distinguishes this camera from other wireless cameras on the market is that the connection between the camera and the screen is digital rather than analogue. This indicates that the connection is more stable than with other cameras, and there is no video delay. The video is crystal clear and crisp. Because the screen is matte, it does not glare in bright sunlight and does not collect fingerprints. The quality of the night sky is surprisingly good. Even in direct sunlight, the camera's quality appears to be fairly consistent. Parking lines are useful, but they could be even more so if they changed lines dynamically as the steering wheel was turned. Perhaps the next Auto Vox model will include this feature. If you're looking for a reverse camera but don't want to deal with running wires, this camera is a great option.
I bought this camera for my Honda Odyssey, and it is the best back up camera, easy to install, and works very well. Two clips are included in the kit to connect the camera to backup lights; they simply snap onto wires without stripping them. As soon as I put the car in reverse, the camera displays a real-time image. The image is crisp and clear, with excellent coverage. The camera captures beautiful scenery thanks to its large 5-inch screen. At night, it's even better. I was able to back up without difficulty, even in complete darkness. I would strongly recommend this product, and I am very pleased with my purchase.
2 August 2019: keep an eye on it. It took me longer to figure out how to install it than it did to actually do it. It took approximately one hour to complete. to put in place The monitor is a good size, and the camera is equipped with a wide-angle lens. @4- is an example of what I'm talking about. 5 feet on each side I use Bluetooth hands-free telephony with the monitor, which is plugged into a 12v outlet. 2 coolers (12 volt) On the monitor, there is no interference. It was sealed when I finished. It's been more than a month since we last saw each other. Everything appears to be functioning properly. I'm particularly grateful for the outstanding AUTO- VOX Customer Service was extremely helpful, with one representative, Joanne, staying with me for several days until the problem was resolved. It was working intermittently after I installed the camera and monitor. I got in touch with AUTO- Joanne from VOX Customer Service sent me a new charging cable at first, believing that was the issue. When that didn't work, she sent me a completely new set. I experimented and discovered that the root cause of the intermittent operation was simply the need to forcefully insert the connection between the monitor cable and the charging cable to achieve a good connection. With this knowledge, I was able to successfully operate the original parts. As a result, I returned the replacements that were no longer required. I have to single out Joanne once more for her outstanding Customer Service, which is the exception rather than the rule in today's business world.
In my 2001 Honda Odyssey, the backup camera is installed in a neat and tidy manner. Because I didn't want to use the mounting tape, I drilled a new hole in the middle of the license plate at the same level as the existing license plate mounting holes. Then I used a 5/16 inch stainless steel 1 inch carriage bolt and a lock washer and nut to secure the camera. I had to cut the bolt down to about 1/2 inch in length. I drilled a hole in the liftgate for the camera wire, threaded it inside, and sealed it with silicone sealant and a toothpick to create a neat waterproof seal. I used the Koomus Pro CD-ROM to mount the display. Magnetic Cradle for M Universal CD Slot- I don't have as much space in my vent for a Smartphone Car Mount. Although the image quality is not HD, it is acceptable. They have some nice connectors for splicing into the car's reverse lights. In contrast to other models, the antenna on this camera is on the right side and is very short. The camera also comes with the most mounting options.
