Questions & Answers

Will a Furron back up camera work with a 2019 Cherokee 234vfk travel trailer that has been prepped for one?

I have a 2020 Rockwood Minilite and it installed without a hitch, so I'm guessing it'll work for yours as well.br>It's plug and play, with a simple male female connection. Only the back camera, however, was pre-programmed. The two marker cameras had to be hardwired, so the claim that the system is pre-wired is completely false. wired. br>br>To be honest, I returned mine because I didn't think the quality was good enough to justify the $1,000 price tag. Instead, I found a different system that worked just as well and plugged right into pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-exist br>I wasn't impressed with the furrion because it has better video quality, split screen mode, and saves me $6 or $700.

Is this compatible with a 2021 ram 2500 hd longhorn computer?

My processor is a 2021 ram 2500. It makes no difference what kind of vehicle you have, but there is a light outlet (12v) up top by the window in my truck, so it's pretty handy. There haven't been any problems for me.

How big is the blind spot on each side from the trailer's back with the 120-degree rear camera viewing angle?

There is no blind spot if you have a side camera mounted as well. I had to adjust the down angle on mine a few times before I was happy with it, as well as figure out the best range. I no longer have any blind spots when using the screen with the three camera view. This system is fantastic!

Has anyone ever had a problem with the side markers leaking? Because they've never had a side marker camera that didn't leak, the dealer won't install it. ?

I put mine in a few months ago and they haven't leaked yet. The seals appear to have been well-built. As a precaution, you could wrap them in silicon like a regular light, but this does not appear to be necessary.

This is a purchase that you will come to regret
3/5

BUYING THIS PRODUCT IS A MISTAKE! The camera is set up and ready to use right out of the box. There was no need to pair this time. In my factory, I installed a camera set. trailer with all of the necessary wiring The camera worked perfectly on the first day of the trip. The camera was not paired on the second day. To pair the cameras, I had to remove them from the monitor and manually plug them in. I was able to get it to work and was able to get back on the road. The next day, it was the same! Remove each camera from the trailer and connect it to the monitor manually. What a pain in the neck! The system will become unusable if it does not stay connected. br>THE MOST HORRIBLE PART. I contacted the company and received ZERO response (except for an automated email stating that my "message has been received and assigned case number 00192642"). I can't seem to get anyone to pick up the phone or respond to my emails! br>Unfortunately, I am past the deadline for returning. I'm out $800 and stuck with a piece of technology that doesn't work. br>DO NOT THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY! Purchase this item at your own risk.

This camera isn't compatible with GMC trucks from the last few years
3/5

This product is incompatible with newer GMC trucks (mine is a GMC Sierra 2500BH from 2021); There have been numerous complaints on other forums that some of the newer trucks do not provide enough power for this camera to operate and pair. I tried purchasing a $100 extra 7-volt battery. pin adaptor that was supposed to solve the problem but didn't. I contacted Furrion Support (Case 00194702), but have yet to receive a response. Now I'm stuck with an out-of-date $800 camera system. Before you buy this product, do your homework and make sure it will work with your truck.

The biggest issue is reception, but it's otherwise quite good
4/5

I chose this option because I needed a backup camera for my travel trailer, which is 33 feet long overall. I looked at a few different models, but the Furrion seemed to have the best monitor setup. Preparing ahead of time is a great way to save money. The trailer's wired setup was a plus. It works like it should 95% of the time for me. Sometimes going down the road it can get a little jumpy, but for the most part it works well for me. The side cameras don't help much in terms of getting a sense of how close something is, and I still need my wife to spot for me on my blind side, but it's fantastic for backing into a space. You can actually get a sense of what's going on behind you, and it pays for itself the one time it saves you. The back camera and monitor, on the other hand, are a must-have, and I'm very pleased with them. I can't seem to find a way to adjust the brightness of the monitor, and I've tried everything I can think of. If I had to buy again, I'd probably get the side cameras because they might come in handy one day if I have a tail wag incident. When the connection is strong, the picture is clear. Good luck using it as a security camera, because you're almost certainly going to connect it to your parking lights, which means the cameras will need to be turned on as well. Nothing prevents you from wiring them into their own connection and installing a switch, but it sounds like it would be too time consuming for little benefit to me. Similarly, to power the monitor, you'll need a 12 cigarette plug in your trailer or a charger that isn't included. For me, I only need it when I'm driving, and turning on my parking lights isn't a big deal to turn on the cameras.

Backup as well as a security camera are available
5/5

This product is fantastic, and it can be used as a security camera at night as well. That was a question I had before purchasing this camera, and no one could answer it. So, when I got the furrion, I did some research and came up with a way to make this work while you're sleeping in your RV. It's fantastic for driving and backing up to your campsite, and comes highly recommended.

Unhappiness, a poor image, and a lack of trustworthiness This is an excellent method
3/5

I would have given it a five star rating if it weren't for the issues. It appeared to work when I first set it up. I figured it out and assumed it was due to a problem with the monitor. I contacted the technician, who agreed and dispatched a replacement system. A UPS return address is also included. The new system arrived, but it was inoperable. I called again and was fortunate enough to speak with someone who was able to explain the situation to me. My truck is a GMC 1500 from the year 2019. Rewiring was done on the electrical system. It is not designed to deliver a steady 12 volt current. By connecting the rear camera to a 12 volt battery, I was able to demonstrate that it worked as intended. He also stated that a fix was in the works and would be released soon. That's my hope. The part arrived and I was able to get the cameras to work, 50% of the time further, the picture quality is poor for the cost of this system further. I'm not going to send anything back because it's been too long, but I will be looking for a new set up. It is not advised.

A fantastic camera system that is well worth the money
5/5

After spending so much on her brand new 33 foot RV travel trailer, this was definitely a splurge. The location of our keystone hideaway had been planned ahead of time. Both the side and rear lights are wired for it. br>Our RV dealer was not very helpful, and the pre-trip instructions were not very detailed. We had taken out our entire side light and tied all the correctly colored wires together and it worked fine, only to discover when we went to the other side of the camper that all we had to do was score the silicone. Remove the light, and this slid right in (you'll need to remove the screws on the back to screw it onto the camper bracket)! The rear camera is the most straightforward to set up. Everything connected right away, giving me complete peace of mind while driving. br>br>The only thing I'm not sure about is the trigger; I assumed that when we use our turn signals, the appropriate side camera view would flash up on the monitor; however, I'm not sure how to enable that. Make use of it. br>br>Aside from that, we're glad we got both side and back cameras. br>br>The connection is incredible; even when our camper is disconnected and we drive away, the monitor will stay connected for a quarter-hour if we leave it on. mile!.
