The majority of the other reviews are in my favor. Knockout sets are needed if you plan to install the wiring anywhere other than the top of the case. Although the box is sturdy, the outlet and the back of the box are a little close together with the correct 6 gauge wiring. For the wire to be bent in the proper direction, I used a pair of long, curved needle nose pliers. The grounding wire included in the box can also be connected to this as well. A high level of quality appears to be present in all the contacts and included hardware. A durable construction is used in the outlet box.
I liked this receptacle a lot. I had only one issue with the wires they installed, as the ground wires were 12 AWG, but they should have been no larger than The old one was changed The installation and operation of the box are flawless. In addition, it's not possible to access from the back. So I drilled a hole and sprayed it with cold galvanizing. A grommet was installed after a spray was applied. The system worked as expected, and I was able to enter the box directly. The container is set up on the outside of a storage area In my electrical room, the container is filled with equipment. With the lock hole provided, I was able to install a nice size master lock as well.
In order to properly connect a 50 amp box, 6/3 wire is needed. The back is very tight so it has to be disassembled before it can be assembled. As far as the punch-out on the bottom is concerned, it is also not pre-tapped. We need to drill and bore a large enough hole for the thick 6/3 to fit comfortably. It's a great way to keep up with the news, but there are a few subtleties.
It's not worth spending your money on. The box has already been destroyed by the time you get The Knockout out. As a result, the Knockouts are not cut deep enough and would need to cave in the sides of the box to come out. In my opinion, you shouldn't buy this box unless you plan to drill a hole in it to run conduit through.
The only complaint I have is that it is not a standard gray shade. This does not match the pedestal to which it was mounted exactly. It was perfect in all other respects.
It did not have a punch out on the back, which was the only downside. My own was made and mounted on the outside wall since it has holes on the bottom and sides.
In order to install it outside of my garage, I bought this device to charge my RV. I found it to be perfect for my purposes. During the wall wiring, I connected it to the computer. Putting the wires in metal conduit and connecting them to the wall panel will make it easier.
A very thick, strong medal. This is the third one I have bought. I have one at our cabin, one at our house, and one at my brother's. We use them primarily for our RV, but are also able to use them for welding when necessary.
