The answer is yes, if the discharge gray water is liquid only, rather than chunky. A garden hose can be connected to a RV sewer discharge pipe using this
The end of any 3 inch sewer dump pipe will fit in it. Would have preferred it if it were a little more durable, a strong tug on the hose will likely break the cap off. My life has been changed by it.
It is common to find Thetford caps on RVs. You will need to use an adapter or a Thetford cap if yours does.
Selected User Reviews For Camco Durable Sewer Cap with Hose Connection- Caps the Sewer Connection to Prevent Leaks, Easy Install and Simple Use (39463)
My recommendation for every RVer is to include these two items There will be a hose connection on the dump cap and a connector for the hose.
For a while now, I've been using the Valtera version of this cap. It only has two bayonets for a seal, and one of them has broken In that situation, I was in a bad position. A friend of mine showed me this version with four bayonets to engage all four lugs on my sewer fitting, which I was about to order another one. Having an extra gap gives a more secure seal and some breathing room if one comes loose. Considering it's for what it is, it's worth noting why it's here. It allows you to connect a garden hose to your RV sewer fitting and use it as a grey water faucet. This is a great tool.
After our old black sewer shutoff valve stopped closing all the way, we had to replace the cap. It is still too hard for me to close it properly. Some foreign object is likely attaching itself to it and allowing liquid to pass through. This cap's seal is thick and cushy because on the old cap, there were just two prongs instead of four, and it was only secured on one side. The reviews were really good, so I decided to give it a go. A large rubber gasket holds back any liquid that tries to leak past my shut-off valve, as well as four prongs that keep the liquid in place. At my husband's alma mater, our tailgating neighbors are grateful that it's no longer dripping near their tailgate any longer, and we are no longer embarrassed about it. There is not a drop of leakage since it seals it up well. Then I could make dumping much more pleasant if I could just figure how to fix the valve and make it close all the way.
This same cap was purchased last September (2019) and Camco products are usually very sturdy for RV or trailer sewer hose hookups. I used it to attach a hose, and just two weeks ago, noticed a large crack right at the base of the fitting, so I had to order another one There is no need for the cap to have a crack from traveling or from taking the hose on and off repeatedly since this RV does not move from its yard. In the past, Camco products have given me no problems, but this is the first time. It's a good thing that the cap is so cheap that it's not an issue monetary wise.
Over time, the valves in the gray tank start to leak a little bit, mostly on the older campers. My hope is that it will happen (at least that's my understanding). This is what I use and I install a small plastic ball valve on the hose end. The ball valve is turned on after the bucket is placed under the unit and it is time to hook up. It drains into the bucket so I can flush it down the sewer if there is leakage past the valves. As a result, I can remove the cap and hook up directly with no mess, no fuss, and no mess. However, my vlves are far below my coach, so I will undoubtedly neglect them until they are really.
As well as the hooks used to attach the cap to the sewer outlet, it is very sturdy. The gray water draining connector greatly helps our family drain our gray water tanks when we live in our RV full time. The portable sewer tank makes it easy to drain the gray water tanks by hose into the portable sewer tank when staying at RV parks and campgrounds without sewer hookups. We often stay at RV parks and campgrounds without sewer hookups. Thanks to this product, you don't have to worry about short showers anymore.
With the new one, there are four locking tabs, the original had only two, and there is a good rubber seal at the top. 2 rubber connectors were attached with the larger hose cap and the cap on the cap on the One of the smaller caps came off, so I attached it to the outlet on the RV so it hangs when not being used. A water-tight seal is made, and it snaps securely into place. If you are looking for a reliable replacement sewer cap that is also watertight, this one is the best choice.
For those of you who like to camp for a week either boondocking or in an old fashioned campsite without sewer connection at each site, this is the perfect place. In spite of the fact that I would never make use of it for black water, it is great for draining gray water tanks. The used water goes into a hose of about 10', which I keep around. You can rely on this product for all your needs.
