As a result of comparing the two brands, I chose the Warn brand. Definitely a happier person than I was yesterday. They are straight up metal, so there is not much that can go wrong here. This is a very clear and concise tutorial (better than I've ever seen in the past). My skills as a mechanic do not allow me to convert auto locking hubs to manual hubs. There is nothing to fear (diagrams, pictures, and text) because these instructions were written for people like me. After opening the box I knew I was in good hands. I would recommend this product highly.
A small nub on the inner locking nut on my original warning nut broke when I removed it. Don't force the washer out from under all that old grease! There is a slot under all that grease for the locking washer. A new unit was exactly like the old one. I torqued it to 135 lbs. and backed off 90 degrees from that. I tried it out and it worked perfectly. The nuts and washers are very expensive for such a small amount.
To go with my Warn 29071 manual hub conversion kit, I bought this. There's something wrong with the lock washer. It's poorly designed and poorly made. Because the index tab is too short, it is easy to slide out of place and cause the bearing to experience too much torque. When I tried torqueing the outer ring, the tab slipped out and rotating with the inner ring. The only thing it needs is a slight rework To reach the end of the tab, design it You can put a longer tab here if you like. It seems to have happened only on one side.
Engine Generation 4 0l XLT The locking hub needs to be replaced. It's really nice to have a set of manual lockers fitted to my Ford Bronco (1987 model) in place of a set of 5 bolt auto hubs. I had no problems with the fit.
The review by Tom G can be found here This happened to me as well. There is not enough length between the index tab on the washer and the slot on the washer. It isn't possible to tell as I have 2,000 miles on mine. Although I probably did it when I installed Until the outer nut is removed, it is impossible to tell that this happened to the 96 Bronco. As a result. It is impossible to tell if the same thing will happen even if I get a replacement set? This is a terrible thing.
Although the instructions weren't entirely clear, these fit a Ford Bronco 1985 that was equipped with Warn Manual Hubs. While they weren't the clearest, the job was done and they worked just fine. If you're having problems with them, there is plenty of help on the internet.
The quality is excellent. I've seen the reviews that are negative It is likely that if these people would have read the insert that comes with the product (it has only a few sentences), or even just used common sense, they would not have installed the product incorrectly and it would not The products that are made by Warn are excellent. They are leaders in the industry. I would definitely buy from them.
It is a premium part for a premium price. Fits perfectly.
