The first thing you'll notice when taking a look at the picture is that this nut is different in depth from the original nut, which means it won't clear the cotter pin slot on the spindle, meaning that you will have to go without one. Two things stand out. On the original nut, the nylon ring at the end is threaded. On the ACDelco nut, the nylon ring is not threaded, making the problem even worse since the non-threaded part can get caught in the screw. In order to prevent the nut from going fully into the spindle, there is a threaded ring at the end. Is this truly what it seems to be?.
The 6th - We're talking about the same truck as the ones in parts stores, but at a much lower cost. I've used them many times and have never had an issue.
This applies only to the 2WD front rotors, the 4WD uses a totally.
There is no real need to worry about the price of this lock nut, but it is a requirement for I was pleased with the results. As expected, the fit is good.
A very solid product that performs as good as or better than OEMs. A threadlocker had already been applied. You will require a 3/4 torque wrench to tighten these because 295 ft lbs of torque is required. I did not make a mistake. It has a 36mm diameter. My two most frequently used tools are a 3/4 wrench and a socket that I purchased on Amazon for $105 each. If you have a guy with an impact wrench, then you can install these sufficiently without the torque wrench but the book says 295 ft-lbs using the torque wrench, so be careful about it.
For the front rotors to be properly secured with bearings, these machined lock nuts are essential.
You need to be certain. The 2006 Ford F150 was equipped with this. Never re-assume the role of a victim To use these on a F150, turn the torque all the way up to between 295 and 300 ft lbs. Unless you do so, you may lose your rotor and tire!.
That spindle nut seems to be a good choice. I am very pleased with the results. My front discs needed to be replaced once again due to wear and tear. This is the second time I have used these. Priceless. It's well worth it, and it gives you peace.
The nut has a locktight feature. Every time you replace Ford, you have to replace it.
